Went to the newly reopened Harbourside tonight. Ate fish, very mediocre and not cheap. Avoid. Crappy restaurant, great location.

Sounds consistent with my last visit

On kiddie duty mate. De Brett's is a solid choice. Old school. I don't go drinking in town much anymore but always enjoyed the Occidental

    @canefan Good atmosphere, awful food.

A couple of weeks ago I went to the O'Connell Street Bistro. Experience could not have been more different.

Try Ostro. Good food and booze. Nice views. Very professional wait staff too.

We spend one night a month up there and always go there for Saturday lunch before checking in to hotel.

My favorite is fish market for Sunday lunch. A stack of good eateries with a good two piece band and fresh beer.

My sneak in and sneak out place is Gochu. Best hot wings in the country. Also good booze.

Might see you!! We are up tomorrow for the night. There is a new typical fusion place in Wynyard quarter called coconut I think. We will either go there or Ostro for lunch.

Depot is a very nice restaurant if you've never been. Great raw bar and their bone marrow was great last time I went

Awful food is obvs not great, but I would definitely take, every day of the week, great atmosphere and solid food, over dead atmosphere and Michelin star food.

Ducks tongue is the only food that has caused me to straight out vomit.

Curious. Was it taste? Texture? Connotations? Visuals? Smell? I’ve never had the opportunity to try ducks tongue and would likely pass on it but puking is a strong reaction. So yeah. Curious.

All of the above. When I first moved to Asia, I wasn't at all brave with foods (I barely ate Sushi). But pretty quickly I developed a willingness to try everything. Ducks Tongue pretty much so set me back in years.

The texture is horrible - it's kind of like when you have a bit of gristle in your meat, but softer so that you can actually eat it. Add quite an intense duck flavour to it and thats as best as I can describe it.

Yes. I think I will pass if given the opportunity. Thanks for the heads up.

Had the tuna tartare. That was a highlight as the guy that created the menu but doesn’t own the restaurant has that as his signature dish. Won an a award with it a few years ago.

Also loved the lamb ribs. The dipping sauce was wicked.

I had the Peking duck and pancakes too. That was good but standard.

The cocktails were out of this world. Beer great too

Bah, please - like you're actually going to venture past Peaches when you drag yourself away from your grill...
