Man cheats on wife with someone from work is hardly revolutionary stuff.
I am still kind of astounded that people expect politicians to be so much better than "normal" people.
Do your job well, don't be corrupt. That should be the expectation. I never get this "now I question their judgement " moralistic bullshit people like to spout.

When affairs are involved everyone gets a free ride from Boris. Can't be any other way.
How many kids was that again Boris? Do you know their names?
I think most people in the UK are a wee bit too grown up to worry much about politicians' extra-marital affairs and how many children politician X has fathered.
Grown up?
Politicians are allowed private lives and are human, of course. But sometimes there are big clues in repeated private behaviour that makes you question the way they think and act (or act without thinking).
Things like commitment, responsibility and discretion. We understand that loyalty is not a political trait. -

Having an affair in a gossipy backstabbing and leaky environment? Pretty dumb. -

I get this thinking for sure and it's definitely the more modern take on it.
But.....call me old fashioned but a guy who betrays the trust of his wife like that probably does the same to his constituents / the country on a daily basis.
Reminds me of a hedge fund that set up an automated strategy in the early days of social media looking at the profile pictures of CEOs of listed companies, then shorted those containing women, cars, yachts or planes. Outperformed the market by over 100%.

Having an affair, that’s his business. Could not care less.
Breaking the rules he’s established for his own end (see what I did there 😉) and doling out the old ‘mea culpa’ and ‘Keep Calm and Carry on Covid’ is the shit that rankles.
How anyone can justify this (Boris etc) when hundreds of thousands of people were unable to visit and comfort loved ones in their final weeks, days & hours of their lives is beyond my level of comprehension.
Hypocritical, despicable, vile, evil
These fuckers are sociopaths

Having an affair in a gossipy backstabbing and leaky environment? Pretty dumb. It’s not the affair per se that people are up in arms about is it? I thought it was more the fact that the man who was imposing COVID restrictions on the whole country - including restricting close personal contact with loved ones outside of the immediate household - was flouting those same restrictions in the most glaring way. Isn’t it the rank hypocrisy of it all that people are upset about or am I missing something?

No. You are on the right track. I was just explaining why I thought the affair part was a slight on the perception of his judgement.
For me it isn't a moral thing it is a display of a lack of smarts.
The Covid part is separate. -

Spent some time working with a senior dude in one of the Big 6 accountancy houses. One of the measures he used when auditing a takeover target was the number, age and type of car in the exec car park.
He had a scoring system - a Porsche less than 1 year-old was minus 5 points, while a 5 year old Jaguar or Merc was + 5 points

There only one aspect being discussed - Hancock's fitness to be Health Sec. and whether BoJo should have sacked him or not.
Your argument is he got a free pass from BoJo as an affair was involved & BoJo had fathered a number of kids.
My view is the vast majority of people couldn't give a stuff about affairs as it's really not the issue in this case. The idea that having an affair indicates a lack of professional thinking, responsibility, commitment and discretion really doesn't stack up in the real world - otherwise most of the Doctors I know wouldn't be allowed to practice.

Absolutely fucking not IMHO
Affair is being used as a smokescreen.
Off fingering his aide; visiting his grandmother on her deathbed; attending a funeral with more than 30 people; singing and dancing at an indoor wedding for 100 people; watching the football with 15 mates
All different, all the same.
Shaming the country not to do any of the above to 'Save Lives and Protect The NHS' and then ignoring his own rules with impunity is a disgrace
Who the fuck does he think he is?
Fired as Health Secretary
Fired as an MPThe fact that neither happened as soon as it became public but may happen if the advisors to Boris tell him it's hurting the Tories in the polls tells you everything you need to know about Boris, the Tory Party, and their contempt for the people who elected them.
Either that, or the majority of the voting public don't see there's a problem with his (Wankco*k) actions
I believe / hope it's the former

Absolutely fucking not IMHO
Morally I agree with you but if he didn't sack Cummings he won't sack Hancock for the same flouting of the rules.
Affair is being used as a smokescreen.
It wouldn't surprise me if the story and photos were part of a deliberate attempt to oust Hancock via the media rather than sack him.
Off fingering his aide; visiting his grandmother on her deathbed; attending a funeral with more than 30 people; singing and dancing at an indoor wedding for 100 people; watching the football with 15 mates
Marginally better than visiting his aide and fingering his Grandmother on her death bed.
All different, all the same.
Shaming the country not to do any of the above to 'Save Lives and Protect The NHS' and then ignoring his own rules with impunity is a disgrace
Agreed
Who the fuck does he think he is?
Fired as Health Secretary
As I posited above, difficult to sack him having given Cummings free rein for basically the same hypocritical issue. So make his position untenable perhaps?
Fired as an MP
Can't actually do that. His constituents have to do it.
