I just can't believe that Berry is considered good enough to get a Lions' Test.

    At least he's not French

I’d take Marcel Marceau over Berry

    You’d have more clarity

The irony is that TMO was good overall, but Berry was poor in H2. Kudos to Lions for making him think he was seeing legal breakdown play.

TMO wasn’t great. No post match sanction for Watson either AFAIK…. Nor the other twin BIL player leg lift/head dump in just 2 of 26 potentially penalisable offenses highlighted in the “leaked” video ostensibly addressed to Joel and his reffing overlord panel. And we are without Ox for 2nd match thx to a flanker illegally binding mid scrum and twisting him…. And he was looking very good…
Siya issue and crappy assistant referee issues aside….I know it’s a tough thankless job in the middle. We all have complained about refs. Maybe aligned that with nationalities too to take broad swipes after a few beers… BUT they are HUMAN…. They love the game too make no mistake… Good luck Ben… gonna be a cauldron…Hope it doesn’t become a penalty fest …
Completely a given that breakdown and offside has been far from “sorted” for like…ummm..forever ….but advantage time granted by refs should be reffed equally. Example highlighted by Rassie was possibly the straw that broke …it was just an inexplicable difference….
So combined with lack of response from Berry on Sunday, an injured player, 2 more very lucky ones from head dumps and no word of any potentially impending sanction, the loss…by Tuesday Rassie says fukkit… The flicking off of the marker cap at the end was calculated I’m sure, after a pretty heartfelt and impassioned “rant” He may have done the game good in my opinion. BIL potential players get the gap every 4 years. Rest 12…This does count. And EVERYBODY needs for there not to be THAT level of error. Especially when surely SOME of it was blatant to AT LEAST ONE of the reffing team….

As an Englishman who has the watch the AWJ referee-influencing masterclass EVERY six nations, I feel Kolisi’s pain.

He should be good value on the after dinner circuit. That's a very good read. Thanks for providing that.

I think this reply to a post about the dour game by an ex-RAF mate encompasses how shit this tour has been, from a rugby perspective, both on and off field. The poster is SA heritage, born in the UK tho. So supports Saracens, and England - but the Boks if it is not England.

Agree Kiwi. The desire not to lose has sapped any joy out of the whole thing! Not convinced Gatland really ever had a "masterplan" for beating the Boks, just game to game......almost feels like a testimonial! The Boks seem to have made a aggression the tactic almost to the point of intent to harm. Overall, all feels a bit sad to me; sad for the players, sad for the fans, sad for the game!

It really has been a utterly crap advert for rugby, with far more innovation off the field than on - of the tests there is more talk about the shit Rassie got up to, and citings/cards or lack of

    Is this legit?

Taking taking rugby down a path it will be tough to come back from?

This isn't where we want our game to go.

in all honesty, lets just fuck the South Africans off again like the 80s

Boring rugby. Mouthy pushy administrators. Deluded fans. Ref whinging extraordinaires. Back to exile with you blokes until you learn you're not actually better than everyone else. No one needs you. Fuck off.

people will cry about the "history" and the "intense historical rivalry" when in fact since the dawn of professionalism the ledger stands at an embarrassingly one-sided 40-1-15

take your NY lawyers (oooooh) and your anti-rugby and fuck off.

@mariner4life thanks. If you want to take the Springboks from nowhere to the top as a coach then you need to be innovative to deal with a lot of politics and coaching skills.

I dont agree with the videos or the involvement with the Americans (the ANC Stormers executives rejected them)

So expect the unexpected from Rassie & kie and be thankful for a strong rival.

He hasn't lost against the All Blacks in NZ and will meet up with Foster in a months time.

That's rather amusing. One match isn't it?

Played 4, one win, one draw two losses?

    Win ratio of %25?

Yes, I'm much more in synch with OomPB view than M4L, but that argument wasn't the best ...

Didn't Foster have that for awhile?
