Another reason the Nations Cup would have been great, play the top teams every year, a good way to improve is to play the best consistently.

@nostrildamus Someone had the NZR needs to be firmer with the Crusaders and limit his ganeline with them. Every year, come November, Whitelock is running on fumes.

then at the ABs they should replace him earlier (in the game, with the bench lock)?

@sparky dont be, we will get schooled, set yourself up for it now...

And even if we do, NZR will be all about 'learnings' and 'growth' and 'how hard this tour was' rather than ditching Friar Foster the Mediocre

you lack the faith! Foster and co are very prepared for this match!
Just like the last one. Oh.

Very excited about it too! Excited to add another black mark on what was once a pretty shiny record... first loss to Ire, getting spanked by same, first loss to Arg, record loss to Oz, Record loss full stop, pathetic lame draw versus very limited Gatland Lions... the list goes on what the Late Hansen/Foster regime has acheived. Moments they will be proud of their learnings and growth

Plus Ireland probably now think they can win the majority of games against us.

Well, home games and neutral venues aside from RWCs I guess....

I think they will be confident at RWCs as well. We shall see.

Yeah, the aura is waning on them

The thing is, our players rugby intelligence is being exposed. Ruthlessly.

We don't have stronger, faster or more skilled players any more, and we don't have the rugby intelligence. It's really scary looking forward; sustained mediocrity is likely

Heretic. It's an accepted truth sacking Foster will make us world-beaters in weeks - read it on this inter-web thingy.

    @victor-meldrew
That's a complete strawman. The point of getting Foster out is that he is not good enough. Simple as that. He was picked with zero credentials as a head coach and purely on nepotism. Probably 80% of fans didn't want him to get the job and we are proven right on a near weekly basis. When we rolled Italy, almost everyone knew we still played shockingly bad so this isn't a kneejerk to losing. I am happier losing when we play well than a comfortable win where we play poorly. Because I know rolling second tier team means nothing if the team isn't clinical, when you are clinical you can apply it to a higher level of opposition. I still think we have the players to be playing much better even if this isn't the 2015 vintage.

Foster out is not a magic bullet or panacea, it's just a simple fact that he isn't good enough to be the coach of the number one ranked side.

Fuck Foster, fuck his assistants, fuck the NZR, fuck the NZ Rugby Media for pretending our mediocre team are World beaters.

I don't think the ABs are mediocre, they're just not the clear no 1 team from 2010-2015. The top 8 is now a lot more competitive, anyone can win against anyone on their day.

Yeah, I'm not finding the last two years (any) worse than 1998 or the early 00s or the early 90s.

Then the root problem isn't Foster, it's the nepotism. Fix that first otherwise it's papering over the cracks and the nepots undermining the new coach.

    Exposed or negated?
The only wily one left seems to be Dan Coles.

Its pretty obvious also (like JBs a good FB not a winger) that you can't win regularly if the forwards don't get and retain 50% possession.

Since the 80s I've watched some of our greatest days and some of our darkest days. We've been spoiled since 2011. Being outmatched is an unwelcome and for most of the last 10 years unfamiliar. We need better cattle, a better plan. But it isnt going to happen overnight

Actually I thought you were going to name Leicester instead!
Speaking of which, if Robertson was AB Coach, (a whatif indeed) I wonder who he'd pick as midfield..

Worried about his game. France are good and their half back, Dupont, is fantastic.

    Who is Tupou ?

@stargazer a new one, we have had musical chairs already, so was expecting a change, although was one that would feature ALB...

@cgrant my guess is he meant Tupaea

Gee, midfield is a worry though!

I think they need to go Tupaea/Ioane, but expect they'll go Havili/Ioane.
