Was he the bassist in the video "No One Knows"?

Perhaps just the lead singer before Josh Homme??

    Homme is QOTSA isn’t he?

I had no idea really. Apparently so

Always seemed like a good guy. Told Greg Chappell to pull his head in to no avail in 1981.

    First off, RIP Rod.

Secondly was that the case ? I was three and a half years old when the underarm happened so to be fair the memory is a bit hazy but I’ve read a bit on it and don’t recall that happening ( again, recent memory might be a bit hazy for different reasons ) Pretty easy for the kiwi press to label all Aussies fluffybunnies I guess…..

I find it interesting that he didn’t make the list of 100 greatest cricketers in my favourite cricket book I have ( keepers like Gilly, Alan Knott, Jack Blackham, Godfrey Evans, Syed Kirmani, Les Ames, Wasim Bari, Ian Healy and Andy Flower all ranked above him ) but he always seemed highly rated elsewhere ? ( others of his generation like Jeff Dujon and our own Ian Smith missed out too )

I suppose wicket keeper is a really tough position to gauge “greatness”…….but 96 tests behind the stumps to Lilliee, Thommo, Pasco and whoever else plus a cheeky trio of test hundreds speaks of a pretty fucken decent cricketer to me.

    RIP once again.

Not sure I’ve seen the start of it like that but yep, Rod wasn’t happy.

Off topic slightly but poor old Trevor Chappell, one brother was very good, the other was an all time great…..and he’s known as the guy who bowled underarm.

Mind you the real villain was Bruce Edgar, should have definitely scored quicker.

Richie Benaud was an excellent leg spinner who could bat a bit and then went on to become arguably the greatest commentator the game has known.

Provided history repeats itself Warnie seems more than ready to step up to the mantle. We’ll be sweet.

Didn't Marsh make a point of going up to McKechnie and shaking his hand and then pointedly ignoring Greg Chappell?

I’ve never heard you commentate so I can’t really give an opinion sorry.

I think that’s the absolute peak of posts not ageing well.

    RIP Warnie
