@Victor-Meldrew Mitchum was so good in that movie. It's a really seamy and menacing film for its time.

LMD has been previously reviewed and the consensus chimed with your review. Just dreadful.

Yeah - I was pretty sure the only reason this thing had come to my attention, was some 'orrible fluffybunny on here reviewing it, and piquing my interest. But a drunken half-arsed attempt to search for it failed, so no credit/abuse could be given.

The latest Dr Strange. Not too bad. I have an intense dislike for Bendthedick Cumthebatch but I do like him as Dr Strange. Very much enjoyed the original.

Not the best Marvel but not the worst. America Chavez is a ridiculous character and certain things were very cringe (food is free in most universes, memory store) but there was enough action and interest to keep it going. The multiverse could be an amazing tool going forward if used wisely.

@Victor-Meldrew I have heard and read a number of reviews of operation Mincemeat but not one has mentioned that this story has been filmed before as The Man Who Never Was.

I remember watching it as a kid. (Always seemed to be a B&W WWII movie on every Sunday pm).

at that time I thought it was a cracking yarn - done well. I reckon it would know seem very dated full of stiff upper lips and clipped vowels.

It did add a fictitious IRA German spy to the story

The Man Who Never Was - Wikipedia

The Man Who Never Was - Wikipedia

    It also had a cameo from the guy who came up with the idea of Operation Mincemeat;

"During filming, Montagu has a cameo role, that of a Royal Air Force air vice-marshal who has doubts about the feasibility of the proposed plan. It was described by Ben Macintyre as a "surreal" moment when the real Montagu addressed his fictional persona, played by Webb"

    Halloween Kills

Not sure why I expected yet another sequel of a franchise that actually wasn’t that amazing to start with to be any good but I’m an incredibly slow learner I guess.

Just awful, awful crap on any number of levels. Why won’t the fluffybunny just die like a normal person ?

1.5 Jamie Lee Curtis isn’t hot anymore out of 5 yes it’s the guy out of the Breakfast Club

Can we at least agree that she is far, far hotter than her younger daughter?

My Father bought me the book that the film was based on when I was a kid. I remember it as a long drawn out story with not much action. I didn’t appreciate it at the time but think I’d probably like it now.

May be wrong, but didn't Montagu write the book the film was based on?

One of my favourite films. Arnie was soo good in that as was JLC. On screen chemistry was off the scale.

Old film. In the Heat of the Night - Sidney Poitier & Rod Steiger.

Searing film with on-screen chemistry between Poitier & Steiger that's just on another planet.

4.5 Martin Luther King's out of 5 KKK Grand Wizards
