Police Academy
Some movies date really badly. Some remain awesome. Some have hugely outdated jokes which makes them even better.
PA is right smack in the middle of these. Lots of laughs still there, Guttenberg is pretty damn funny and a lot of the delivery is absolutely spot on.
Odd observation. When Hooks drives over Copeland's feet and he calls her a dumb fat racial slur ... the line with the racial slur was cut out. Why?? FFS Why??
4 Tacklebury's out of 5 Hightowers
i watched this with the kids a year or so again. i forgot about the lectern blowjob. awkward.
That's probably my main memory of that movie.
@Machpants It's also from a deleted storyline and had nothing to do with the plot so didn't even have reason to be there.

@mariner4life Priyanka Chopra is so bad at acting that I feel embarrassed every time she is on screen. How does she get cast in anything?

There weren’t many black dudes in Nelson in the 80s
"England expects that every man will do his duty," as Lord Horatio Nelson used to say. Not sure he said that during his time in the West Indies...

Do you like obvious green screen, CGI and implausible, idiotic science disaster movies? Then this is for you.
I'm a third of the way through and this is a
blatant rip offhomage to When Worlds Collide, Armageddon and Deep Impact. Less than the sum of those parts too. Much less. -

##spoiler

Much less.I'm now halfway through and it has managed the previously thought unachievable; gotten way worse. I'm compelled to see just how bad it gets. Perhaps that was their intent all along.

@antipodean do it....it wont disappoint in a weird way

I wasn't sure if you meant Nelson the place or Nelson the Admiral... -

Unfathomably this is the worst disaster movie I've seen in a very long time. It is ludicrously stupid and yet comes from the same director responsible for Universal Soldier, Stargate, Independence Day...
The best way to describe it would be to remove it from the high budget disaster genre and call it its own disaster.

Emily the Criminal was pretty good. First 30 minutes were very good. The rest strained belief, but was entertaining and engaging.
Enjoyed the way it was shot.
3.5 out of 5.
Yep
Enjoyed it too -

It's a great movie though.

Top Gun : Maverick
I saw all the gushing here about it from you fluffybunnies, but couldn't see how it would live up to that hype.
But yeah - pretty fucking good.
So many moments of reference back to the original that should have been cringe - but... somehow weren't.
Pleasantly surprised..
Tit-watch: zero. Those tones in the credits - Currently trying to hold myself back from downloading an Amiga emulator, and playing F/A-18 Interceptor
