Starting off with an AB prediction:

Foster retains Cane as captain and starting openside. This severely limits the chances of the ABs winning big games. Wouldn't get a run for Ireland, South Africa, Argentina, Australia, or France.

    The World Cup:

France beat us in the opening game and top pool A, we are the runner up.

Ireland top pool B, South Africa runner up.

Australia top pool C, Wales runner up, Fiji could beat Wales though.

Pool D - Argentina top, England runner up.

    QF1: England beat Australia

    QF2: France beat South Africa

    QF3: Argentina beat Wales

QF4: Ireland beat New Zealand (My guess is we have a 1 in 3 chance of winning, 1 in 2 chance if we play South Africa)

    SF1: France beat England

    SF2: Ireland beat Argentina

    Final: France beat Ireland

Of course, there will be upsets etc. Australia may well make the semifinals. Ireland are pretty reliant on Sexton's availability.

If we can play South Africa in the quarter final, then we have a good chance of making the final.

Can't really fault your predictions, I think it will be a France v Ireland final aswell but I'm actually going to go the other way and pick the Irish. They will muscle up to the French and if they can keep key players fit then they also have the subtle x-factor to topple the hosts.

Ireland won't get past the quarters. Just fate I'm afraid.

    Eagles win the superbowl
    Kings win the NBL
Boston beat the Suns in the NBA
    Blues win Super Rugby

France will choke the World Cup. So will Ireland.

South Africa to win, Australia to play a semi at least. I reckon we win our quarter as well.

    Cowboys to win the NRL
    Lions to win the AFL

Ireland? Subtle would be an understatement then.

Weirdly enough I have a feeling we will win it. A Foster coached ABs winning the RWC would be absolutely hilarious. I'm a fan of their current set up but I can see Ireland choking like a bitch. They have probably more RWC baggage than we do now.

@mariner4life i have actually stuck $200 on South Africa @$6 to win RWC 2023 and go back to back
Despite not getting a couple of results in their late season in the NH , in the 2 games they lost against Ireland and France i thought the Bok pack on both occasions dealt to both of these teams up front , in fact they man handled them
They are a tournament team but i do believe they have the best depth across any team , only issue is whom they slot into 10

Super Rugby , i cant go past the Crusaders to make it 6 in a row , although they will pushed hard by the Chiefs who play them in the Final.

MN5 to get 3 months worth of bans from TSF
TSF Bot to win poster of the year
MajorRage to talk a lot about buying an electric car but having the same cars on his driveway
Tim to start posting things that don't make you go "Huh"?
Snowy to return ... for a bit.
Hooroo to fully depart .. then return
RL to come back under a different name
BartMan to return for a bit come rugby world cup
Chris to predict the Aussies to win the Ashes
Bones to post something serious which leaves people bewildered as to where the jokes are
Antipodean to finally come out of the closet (as a Wallabies fan masquerading as an AB's fan) after the Wallabies do better than the All Blacks in the world cup
Mariner4 Life to not notice any of the above

    And finally ...

Kirwan & Duluth to have a massive barney which makes Liam & Noel Gallagher look like they are friends .... over Akira Ioane.

The first one doesn't count as a prediction if it's you that bans him.

Nort that it should stop you of course.

Your logic is sound and it’s depressing, very depressing.

The key is the first game. We need to beat France. I’m not worried about the Boks. If we can beat France we’re a good shot to make the final.

    1. Jordie Barrett to have a 'mare at 12 in the RWC Final and be replaced by David Havili.

    2. DH proceeds to play a blinder and brilliantly sets up Reiko Ioane (who Foster has moved to wing) to score the winning try in the last 2 minutes of extra-time.

    3. Foster is feted as the greatest comeback coach in AB history and there's a public outcry when NZR try to replace him. He gets to stay for another 4 years

    4. Fern goes into quadruple meltdown

    More like:

Jordie Barrett moved from wing to 12 for the final after injuries to David Havili, Quentin Tupaea, ALB, Ngani Laumape, Charles Ngatai, Ma'a Nonu and Warwick Taylor.

Not an impossibility as I saw what looked more than a remarkable lookalike to him (albeit less than gracefully aged) in Elements Cafe on the Cnr of Onepu Road and Wha Street in Lyall Bay Wgtn last Queens Birthday Weekend.

Contemplating that crystal ball again and some visions are coming through. I'm seeing a date, is that September 9?

    I'm seeing a team sheet:

    15 B Barrett
    14 Telea
    13 R Ioane
    12 J Barrett
    11 Clarke
    10 McKenzie
    9 Smith
    8 Savea
    7 Papalii
    6
    5 Whitelock
    4 Retallick
    3 Lomax
    2 Taukei'aho
    1 de Groot

Trying to make out that 6 name ... maybe it starts with an "S", maybe an "I", I'm just not sure.

@Tim About right. If he can get himself right, Will Jordan will play at 14 or 15. I'd love to see a fit and hungry Akira Ioane at 6.

Clarke is the weakness there, one awesome game against Ozzie was a long time ago. But is this what you want to see, or what you think you'll see?

At this stage I am holding judgement on Clarke until we see this Super campaign through. If he is still inconsistent and hasn't improved his decision making then we may as well see if there is a bolter x factor winger around as we wouldn't lose much.
We do need one guy that will pull a rabbit out of a hat as that can be the difference in knockout games.
