Ooh boy howdy that was a soggy one. Chiefs defence was so bloody good, only massive mistake defensively was Nankivell drifting in before the Moorby try and Stevenson not reacting to the kick. Dmac obviously gave fumbled the ball horribly which lead to a try. Chiefs forwards were all over the Canes was bloody good to see. Glad to see them bounce back after last week.

You’d hope so. There were 7 ABs in that starting Chiefs pack.

Weber and DMac getting an armchair ride…. 😎

The looks on the Chiefs forwards when the ball was just kicked in to touch to finish the match was priceless

Canes won't win anything with Morgan at pivot. He is Hunt-lite. Stevenson and DMac just needed to kick it into Canes territory and would gain territory. Did any of Morgan's kicks go over 20 meters?
Think we are seeing the future with Roigard and Ratima!

DMac fangirls need to acknowledge the screamingly obvious; his claims to All Black squad scall up isn't at five-eighth; it's at full black as reserve.

It may be obvious to you, but if we play Mo'unga at 1st-5 we will get the porous defense that goes with that, and very unsympathetic ball play for the centres. And if we play Beauden Barrett, it won't even be that good.

If DMac isn't at #10 for the ABs, the RWC will be the most relaxing I have watched, because without his spark in close to play, we are not beating any good sides.

I noticed at the game just how much further the Chiefs' kicks went, and also that DMac was defending in the midfield on line-outs.

fangirls? Your opinion would be more convincing without the insults or the invented "full black" position. I wasn't a DMac fam at AB level as a starter let alone 10, but he has definitely improved. And the contenders aren't in the most convincing of form or confidence.

@antipodean Who would you pick at 10 for the ABs?

Have always thought that he was the form 10 at the end of last season playing in the development team under Leon. I wonder if some of the rule changes may have helped him in that position, just a guess. We defiantly need more than one 10 going forwards, as there will be different scenarios which suit different 10s. I am just hoping we get another DC clone.

WC rules are a lot different to what we are playing now.The Rugby Championship will show us a lot more as far as First Five's for the WC.
We revert back to a slower paced more set piece orientated game for the WC.

Who is denying he hasn't improved, or that Mo'unga and Beaudy aren't exactly at the top of their form? The simple fact remains if it was a three horse race, he's coming last.

On form it has to remain Mo'unga, but Beauden's form this weekend hints at competition now he's taking the ball to the line again. May that continue.

    you care enough for insults.
As to "simple fact"? I don't think those words mean what you think they mean.

    Stuff
"Now, we're seeing the emergence of Stephen Perofeta coming through, and Damian's come back, and took a little while to find his feet at the end of last year, but has been really impressive in Super Rugby"..."His challenge at 10 has been his depth management, being able to know when to play flat and when to play deep," Foster said of McKenzie. "He instinctively likes to take the ball to the line"... "There's a few things he's got to keep working on, but he's a big mover. We're excited for him."

Maybe you didn't get the memo?
And anyway it is Ian Foster, not convinced your simple facts will predict what he will do.

I've never been a Dmac fan. Far too Helter skelter. But his play since his return from Japan, in particular this year, has won me over. He is a serious consideration for 10, I would like to see how he goes in a test match against decent opposition

This reserve hooker is a munter.

Agree on Faiva. His lineout throwing is poor and in general he's only adequate We lost over half our lineout throws (at least it seemed like it) when he came on. We need Devery Coles or Aumua back otherwise team has another big handicap. All down to all these injuries. They never stop

Morgan showed how limited he is. Moreby after playing well last week was limited again. Except for his great try. Maybe he should play on the wing when (or if) love returns
