The thief only got about 15m before the women pinned him down until police arrived.

A would-be thief appears to have failed to notice that one of the group of bikini-clad women he was targeting was also seriously ripped.

That oversight turned out to be a big mistake.

Moments after his smooth sleight-of-hand, he was being pinned to the ground by off-duty Swedish police officer Mikaela Kellner - who does powerlifting and Crossfit when not upholding the law, and has appeared on TV show Swedish Ninja Warrior.

Fair to say the thief probably realised he had picked the wrong targets for his crime.

Kellner was sunbathing with friends in a Stockholm park when the man approached under the guise of selling magazines for the homeless.

Mikaele Kellner has appeared on Swedish Ninja Warrior.

He was persistent, and at one point put his magazines down on top of a mobile phone belonging to one of the sunbathers.

As the man walked away, the woman realised he taken taken her phone with him.

Kellner said she acted on instinct in chasing the thief.

Kellner was after the thief like a shot, getting to him when he was about 15 metres away and pinning him to the ground with the help of one of her friends - also an off-duty police officer.

"He realised quite quickly that it wasn't worth struggling," Kellner told The Local Sweden.

"I just acted on instinct," she said.

Sitting on the ground, waiting for the apprehended pickpocket to be taken away by some on-duty colleagues, she realised the sight might be quite funny. But she was undaunted.

"I would have stepped in no matter what my outfit. Had I been naked I would also have intervened. Nothing will stop me."

Kellner posted a picture of the take down on her Instagram account, taking the opportunity to remind people about the tactics used by pickpockets.

The theft was "like magic", she said.

https://what3words.com/about/

I love this notion. They have mapped the entire world into 3 metre square grids and given each one a unique three word "address"

Mongolian post office is adopting it as their address format.

Billions of people have no street address as we in the west understand it. I think this would be great if widely adopted

Place a pizza order for DOGMEAT @ FAT.OLD.BASTARD and there's no danger of it being delivered to the same address in a neighbouring suburb
-

Yeah I caught up on load of podcasts during a long walk on Sunday and they had the guy who came up with the concept interviewed.

A pom who basically got the shits after 10 years of having his stuff delivered to the wrong address. He started giving drivers GPS coordinates but one got two numbers transposed and delivered his goods to a site 200 miles away so he came up with this.

Apparently in 3rd world shanty towns the population now have smart phones and have adopted e-commerce big time. Issue is the delivery address - next to the chicken coop, right at the red lean to upstairs above the witch doctors, leave it with the old boy with no teeth and a Kalashnikov.

UPS reckon this if widely adopted could save them US$1 mill/day.

I think its brilliant.

The words are random but most people can find one that they can attach some meaning to - given they're 3m2 most properties will have a selection to choose from.

They have allocated all the longer words to ocean and arctic areas

As an aside - anyone else getting a glitch when posting? Last few days when typing the words are (occasionally) randomly being spelled sdrawkcab
