Waratahs 2014 is pretty much the only "live" experience where I've seen my team win something big.

Never happened and Joubert was wrong

@mariner4life Surely your Cowboys are a decent chance of winning again sometime?

I'm in the same boat with all my teams (less options than you as I don't care about Aussie and American only sports) but beating Wellington to win the shield and beating BoP to deny them a final were like grand finals for me. 😉

All Blacks - 87, 11, 15. But I also rate the 96 Bok series, 93 and 05 Lions series, 03 Bledisloe series as massive wins.

Crusaders and Canterbury - read the wiki page 😎

NZ/AKL Warriors - so close yet so far! 2011 loss probably hurt more than 02. 02 great to be there and all that but never felt we would win it. 2011 what a team we had.

NZ Breakers - 3 peat from 11-13 and then again in 15. Losing in 2016 and last season were hard to stomach.

SA Spurs - 99, then the others in the 2000’s. Had to wait 10 years for the Admiral to get a chip.

St Kilda - when you look up heartbreak in the dictionary…. Nothing. Zero. Zilch

Philly Eagles - 2017 loooong time coming. Last year arggghhhhh, hurt more than 04.

    Abs 87,11,15
    Crusaders and Canterbury so plenty.

    Then it's Scotland so never

For top 14 it's Pau when we avoided relegation last year we partied like we won does that count.

Finally playing I only ever made two finals Christchurch U18 4th div. We lost.

Senior div 6 we won. Timpsons Tigers!

    To pretty much copy @foobaNZ
    Lions 2000, 2022 (NPC titles) 2008, 2022 (Ranfurly Shield)
    Canes 2016
    Firebirds Super Smash winners 2015, 2017, 2020, 2021 / Plunket Shield 2004, 2020 / Ford Trophy 2014, 2019
ABs 2011 and 2015 RWC's (Obviously we've won every other trophy regularly)
    BCs WTC final 2021
Team NZ America's Cup wins especially watching the racing up close in 2021
    Giants (NFL) 2008 and 2012

    ABs 2015
    Highlanders 2015
    Black Caps WTC 2021
Otago rugby 1998 (yes, held the shield since then but that trophy has been sullied recently ... 😁)
Otago Volts - last won the Plunket Shield in the mid-1980s when the Volts moniker was just a twinkle in a marketing man's eye. Have had limited overs success since then, but meh.
Don't really support any clubs other than Albion cricket club in Dunedin and that's not a comp chock-full of sides so they've done OK.

Black Caps won the WTC but come up short in the short forms

49ers made a SB and were one play from beating the Ravens, one drive from beating the Chiefs

I'm still dining out on our sole Hurricanes SR title with no second helping in sight

Lakers won the COVID championship but look some way from ascending again

Every year it's our year for the Warriors

Breakers came close last year but no cigar

    All Blacks (2015)
    Kiwis (2008)
    Balmain Tigers (2005)
    Waratahs (2014)
    Richmond Tigers (2020)
    LFC (2019, 2022)
    Auckland (2018)
    Penrith Emus (hahaha)
Detroit Tigers (Never, they last won in 84 and I didn't support them then)
And for NHL, strangely I've never picked a team although I love watching it.

Putting it like that, it's much better than I originally presumed.

The Black Ferns last year was good fun for us bandwagoneers.

Otherwise it's just the ABs and BCs that I'm really invested in.

I have favoured Super and NPC teams, and a useless AFL team, but I don't lose too much nervous energy over them.

Which is kind of cool cause then I can just enjoy the sport. Not to say I was completely neutrally, but I don't need therapy if my favoured team loses.

I've been relatively lucky much of my life with my teams although it's been rather lean of late:
    ABs
    Petone
    Canes
Canterbury Bulldogs (actually couldn't give a shit anymore but was once a huge fan)
    Qld Maroons
    Qld Bulls
    Black Caps
    German soccer team (Kraut dad)
    Fulham
    Vålerenga
    Werder Bremen

Actually there are some absolutely shockers there. By far the best was the ABs in 2011.

Been a pretty brutal few years since 2015 for me...
    2017 Lions drawn series.
2019 CWC and RWC, LFC missing out on the league by a point (albeit they did win the UCL)
2020 LFC win the league, but during COVID so less of an opportunity to really enjoy it
2021 Black Caps win test Championship, but again during COVID
2022 T20 World Cup (was at the final), Ireland series loss for the ABs, LFC miss out on the league by a point and also beaten in the UCL final
2023 RWC and inevitable CWC loss (wouldn't surprise if we played in our third final in a row losing to the home team)

    Good man

You'll enjoy this then. Especially as he's likely soon to be playing in Bundesliga
