While I know about the ongoing first responder cases, I found this interesting in terms of thinking about whose fault a terrorist attack is.
Good movie for a sleepy Sunday arvo on the couch

The story of the first black man to play MLB. Chadwick Boseman stars with Harrison Ford as the occasionally irascible team owner. Another sleepy Sunday arvo movie but really interesting to see the history of that.
Hard to believe that a guy could get into OCS, be prepared to fight for his country, then still get treated like that.
Was a different time.

The Family Plan
- 5 minutes in, one could pause, write the plot of the next 90 minutes
- Marky Mark - confused? Then angry. Then confused-angry? Quip! Repeat.
- Tit-watch: zero
Possibly addled review due to the 8% beer in sun...
- Surprisingly enjoyable, lightweight, dumb fun formulaic bullshit. Perfect for after 2 litres of a double-IPA.
Did I mention, tit-watch: zero?

Fearless (1993)
Great opening sequence, really strong first 20 or 30 minutes. Good movie, but conflicted emotions for a lot of it. Bridges' psychological state was one thing, but there were very frustrating sequences with how ambivalent he was to his wife and son. Made me actually react though, and was mostly engaged throughout. Maurice Jarre score was good.

The Bricklayer
Cast: Aaron Eckhart, Nina Dobrev and Clifton Collins Jr.
An ex-CIA agent is reactivated when an extortionist targets the agency. All you need to know about this movie is contained in the following picture.
It's laughably bad. Fight/ action scenes are comically inept. Clifton's portrayal of a presumably "eastern" secret agent is a caricature. Only bright spot is Nina briefly in a red dress.

Napoléon
Visually it's a very nice movie to watch. All the actors do an excellent job. The pacing is bang on. Just like a typical big budget Ridley Scott movie. It just didn't feel like something I'd watch over and over again like Gladiator or The Martian.

Shooting Stars
Netflix. The story of the group of kids who formed one of/the best basketball schools in the USA, headlined by some kid called LeBron James. Interesting look at the people who were around him and the journey they took. The changing dynamics of the group etc.
Based on James' book.

Trouble With The Curve
Clint Eastwood as a grumpy old fluffybunny who scouts baseball talent.
The very rootable Amy Adams as his daughter.
Justin Timberlake as her love interest and scout from a rival franchise.
A bit of an exploration of family dynamics, old age, loss, and the sport itself. I found the thread of the baseball stuff a bit in opposition to Moneyball, however this was dealing with finding talent rather than trying to use available talent.
No tits. The most we see is Adams in her underwear. Loses marks for that, particularly as a skinny dipping scene was in the script.

Interesting! Visually it was great but I disagree with everything else, basically.

Interesting! Visually it was great but I disagree with everything else, basically.

I consider Phoenix an "intense" actor in the mold of DDL, so my belief is the lack of emotional range was deliberately affected. Or at least that's how he comes across in most movies I've seen.

The Creator
What a great film. Beautifully shot, well acted, with a great story. The action scenes were not over the top, the emotion it generated was heavy, and by the end the room had got super dusty. 5 Nirmatas out of 5 NOMADS
The Equaliser 3
I enjoyed the first two films, this was a slow burner to a degree but the action was intense when it got going. Pretty as a picture having been set in southern Italy, the killing was brutal. A nice tie in with his ex-co star Dakota Fanning along with the hidden link between their characters. 4 handless corrupt police chiefs out of 5 mafia bosses murdered by hard drugs
