I think Rebel Wilson deserves a lot of credit for the way she's gone from fat-chick-in-Aussie-culture-comedy to fat-chick-in-Hollywood.

But I can't fucking stand her.

See from the Sony leaks that the next sequel is supposed to be a Men in Black crossover? Crazy enough to work. Maybe.

The imitation Game: I thought this was bloody good, obviously they took some liberties with the 'true story' but that's to be expected with this type of movie - which might annoy some people but it didn't effect my enjoyment of it like The Butler. Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightly were bloody good (Knightly seems to have figured out how to act in the past couple of years) and the supporting cast were good as well.

I think it was a good overview of Turing without being a complete life story obviously.

The Equaliser - Denzel Washington, Martin Csokas

Great popcorn action flick, lotsa shooting, blowing shit up, fighting, just a bit more eye-candy and it woulda been awesome!

I hope they dont, but ended like they were setting it up for a sequel+ kinda deal...

Battleship - it's what it says on the tin. Loads of action, loads of bullshit and loads of CGI. Enjoyable.

American hustle - typical academy awards nominee. Deep, well acted but a pretty boring story overall. Thought Bradley cooper was horribly miscast.

I genuinely liked it. Not quite so preposterous as to have you shaking your head saying tone it down a bit.

Watched that Lucy movie. As suspected it got rapidly worse to the point it was a steaming pile of shit at the end. Pity, because the underlying premise could have been good.

One more review: Predestination. Think Six Monkeys + Looper + Crying Game.

Besson must be laughing all the way to the bank with Lucy, it raked in huge dollars. TBF to him he wrote 80% of a decent movie, if he'd stuck with the generic story instead of trying to go - wherever the fudge he went - it would have been awesome. I'm not the biggest Scarlett fan around here, but she was mighty tasty in this.

Interesting to see some negative reviews of Lucy from what I can only assume are the wives/partners of regular posters here.

It had Scarlett in it and she looked really hot so I stand by my original review . My only quibbles with the movie were her not dealing to the crime boss when she had the chance and the gunfight in the museum was a tad silly. I thought the ending was quite good, had me thinking for a while afterwards about what she became and what she gave. Morgan. And she looked smoking hot.

    My trainspotter review.
I read the book about enigma last year and was looking forward to this, I'm pretty sure Turing didn't have the degree of power they claimed he had in the movie and his team was much bigger .People like to slag off movies like U 571 for the yanks claiming credit they aren't due and I think there was a fair degree of that in this movie . Obviously he was a genius and the work on the machine was way ahead of its time but the initial work was done by Czechs and Poles most of which were evacuated to France early in the war and some of them never saw their families again. Also the Germans changed the codes a couple of times which meant that new wheels and code books had to be captured at great risk to the sailors involved- at least one sub sank with British sailors inside hunting for the codes.

Apart from that it was a decent film , with a great cast in particular the guys who were in Tinker tailor soldier spy.

I agree with all that, as I said they took some liberties with the story, but not to the extent of the Butler. TBH, I think that they actually attempted to show that others were involved in it while focusing on the role that Hut 8 played.

What do you think of the conspiracy theory that Turing was killed by British intelligence due to fears he'd be a target of foreign spies due to his homosexuality?

I don't know, it's possible I guess . Horrible to think that something like that is possible

One other thing, the book I read made Turing out to be an eccentric genius and the movie him to be suffering from asperges or something.

If yours has porn that features Scarlett are you interested in selling it?
