    Good show

It reminded me a bit of Hinterland in its pacing, bleakness and the quality of both the writing and the acting.

S2 was enjoyable too, with enough drama and intrigue to keep me interested. I'm not sure I liked the ending though.

    Loved it

    Definitely onboard for Season 3

    Really enjoying it

Episode three and finding it increasingly tedious. Like the BBC tried making a Guy Ritchie version of Slow Horses.

@bayimports I just tried to start S1E1 this weekend but thought it was pretty shit. Girl with no training kicks ass, gets thrown into a huge situation straight off the bat and knows exactly what to do. Does it get remarkably better?

From memory I think they did explain her experience fighting in later eps, but youre loosely following on. Basically how she becomes part of a CIA hit squad. (if you can get passed the believability piece then its ok)

I also like "the day of the Jackal", but if anyone thinks it is remotely possible for Lashana Lynch to chase and get close to Eddie Redmayne in a race through a forest with her ass the size of a small tank, then believability is also not a criteria high on the list for a lot of action programs these days.

    Still a good watch though

    Spoilers bro 😉

Mind you her chasing him was always going to be on the agenda.

I’m only two episodes in, both characters well written and thought out and I loved his first mission, just ruthlessly efficient.

A couple of extremely decent women to look at helps too.

Further to the bullshitometer going to critical……( six episodes in )

Biancas multiple fuck ups led to quite a few casualties. There is no way she’d still be on the case

The Jackal survived two random encounters ( French driver nose to tail and Hungarian barn incident ). Both kinda pointless and exisiting only to get a bit of action in and extend it to ten episodes.

I refuse to believe the Jackal wouldn’t have been caught way before now. He’s highly skilled, ruthless and all of that but the risks he takes are ridiculous.

The show is getting a bit silly but still a great watch

Jackals wife and the half Japanese liaison chick are nice to look at. Bianca much less so.

But anyway, Eddie what’s his name, barge arse and Charles Dance are excellent.

The latter should have been a Star Wars or Bond villain ( I mean a main one, he had a tiny part in For Your Eyes only back in the day ). Not much range but shit he’s good at playing that pompous, arrogant, powerful English arsehole so well.

Maybe a few years late but:

    Narcos.

Watched with Mrs Boo over the last week/10days.

    Well Series 1 &2.

Really just dragged on about 5 or 6 eps too long.

They tried to make Pablo kinda sympathetic, thus dragged it out a Series too long.

I mean seriously, fuck him and fuck his wife and mother. They knew he was a murderous fluffybunny, let alone he sold massive amounts of poison to innocent people. And bombed peeps. And murdered others.

Story took too long to kill him.

Great start, dragged for no purpose.

Not sure I'll watch Series 3 (about the Cali Cartel), or S4 (Mexico).

In the end just dragged on.

3 sicarios out of 5 fuck that took too long ...

@booboo If you want something shorter and sharper, but in the same vein, watch the series creator's Elite Squad movies. Rather violent.

A good watch. Created by Michael Schur, so there are a lot of familiar actors from his other shows.

    Finished Day of the Jackel

As long as you leave your brain at the door…….

And can accept him getting out of every single impossible predicament he finds himself in, where do you start ? Driving off after escaping shooting the son of the guy he was hired to kill, escaping the concert venue after missing UDC, escaping the island cos his boat was faster after getting UDC on his second attempt, escaping the police right after getting off the island, escaping the weird Hungarians……I could go on…

Not to mention the MI5 attack at the end when they sent Bianca and Vincent, in real life they’d send 50 fucken agents at a minimum….

it’s bloody well made an entertaining.

Eddie Redmayne does a fantastic job I reckon. Stylishly made, beautiful locations and some top notch action scenes

Well set up for a second season which will very likely be a bit shite in comparison

Amusing first three episodes, but no stomach cramping laughs yet.

The joke about the discount at the dollar store was bloody good.

    Yeah, it's okay.
I love how low he has to go to make a crust.
Reminds me a bit of David Brent's shitter moments in Extras and The Office Xmas Special (though not as funny)

    Aaron Rodgers: Enigma

I've been getting into the American Football thing a little since watching Last Chance U so this came up in recommendations. Three episodes of about a hour (?) each, chronicling the career of Rodgers.

Besides the whole COVID controversy, it really drives home how much players - particularly QBs - are judged by Super Bowls.

I think one of his coaches summed it up best - to paraphrase: "They're given a level of credit they don't deserve for the wins, and criticism they don't deserve for the losses".

Anyway I thought it was a good use of time. Really interesting dude even if I don't agree with his stance on vaccines etc.
