Anyone else a fan of Better Call Saul? I haven't scrolled through all of the thread to see if this series has been discussed before.
I've just finished watching both seasons and it's been fun to see all of the references to Breaking Bad (excluding main characters of course).
The Five-O episode in S1 when Mike talks about the circumstances behind his son's death and the job is one of the best episodes I've seen on TV in a long time.
Chuck has been a great character in S2 as he's changed from being someone you had some sympathy for to a manipulative piece of shit.
I'm looking forward to seeing how Gus is introduced in S3.
Really enjoyed S1, just haven't been in the right mood to start S2 but have it lined up for a binge.
Thought S1 was very high quality, enjoyed the characters better than Breaking Bad -

I really enjoyed S1, I actually found it better than all BB seasons aside from S3. But for some reason I haven't enjoyed watching S2 (and I only started on it a few weeks ago) and have actually paused it and I'm watching 11.22.63 instead. I'll pick it up again when I'm done with that.

I'm a fan of Olyphant, watched 2 episodes and don't get it. To me it's pretty shit.
It still surprises me that I like it tbf. Guess I was in the right mood for the style of humour when I started it. I find Olyphant quite funny, his physical comedy skills are great. There is some clever subtle humour among the sight gags as well.
I'm going to keep watching until it gets too 'moral'. Only one mushy moral ending so far. -
@Crucial Just watched the first 4 eps of this and I have to say the boss and I are just really enjoying it.
As you say Crucial, silly, funny and gory. I love how it pokes fun of middle suburban America and the way TV normally portrays such families.
Very enjoyable and I highly recommend it.
We'll finish binge watching the rest later today with a few glasses of a nice chilled rose which I think would accompany this very well. Especially since Sydney will be sweltering yet again today after 41 degrees yesterday!

Ricky and Morty.
Animated show that's kind of a send up of the Back to the Future Films, except Doc (Rick) is a foulmouthed drunk and Marty (Morty) is his very uncool, mildly retarded sidekick grandson.
Farking brilliant show. Adult Swim do some really cool shit.

hope this is as good as it has potential to be, co-incidentally I am in the middle of reading the book, SS-GB by Len Deighton
Not too disimilar to Man in the High Castle I guess except without the fantasy aspect.
I've watched 3 eps of Taboo which took a bit to get going, but am enjoying it.

I tried last night (first ep) but maybe I was just tired. Just couldn't get into it. The main character wasn't engaging at at all.
I was looking forward to it as well. Might have to try again. -
@Crucial book is a little slow to begin with, so hopefully will get better. So far the main character does seem a bit bland and seems to play by the rules, but under the iron fist of HItler guess he had no choice....

Reviews coming out here today are not that complimentary.
Metro this morning was panning the lead character's acting and this article highlights something which is my biggest gripe about a lot of TV drama at the moment as well. Mumbling and whispering.
I understand that producers are trying to make something 'lifelike' and don't want dialogue delivered as if by a hammy stage actor but FFS when the low tones are combined with moody (dark) lighting as well it takes way too much effort to engage.
With SS GB it is a real pity as the sets and construct have been brilliantly done and it sounds like a good plotline.

@Crucial I hate how movies and TV do that with low light and low voices, you turn it up nek minut gun fight and ear drums blown!
I find that infuriating. Over my 40 odd years I've noticed that movies and TV generally get sound levels appallingly wrong in comparison to real life. And the lack of background noise irritates me too. Not quite as much as my complaining about sound mixing in movies irritates the wife...

Found quite a good show by chance on Amazon. I don't think it's been mentioned here before.
Called 'Rogue' and looks to have been one of those shows that has somehow flown under the radar but is in its third season.
Thandie Newton plays an undercover cop, Martin Csokas an organized crime boss and from there it gets complicated. Quality show and plenty of nudity.
As reviews say though you need to watch the first few EPA to get into it. -
You guys would probably hate it for lack of violence and nudity (actually I wouldn't object if it had gone more The Tudors in this way), but I've enjoyed season one of Victoria. Really great cast (the dude playing the Duke of Wellington is such a perfect crotchety cunning grandpa, it's awesome.) Lots of lovely romance and thwarted romance and class battles and German vs English battles, and family battles and underhanded skulduggery and fabulous costumes.
