Ripley
Two episodes in and pretty good so far. The guy who played the slimeball double crossing agent in Bond is well cast as the lead character. The town where it is filmed could not be more beautiful either ( even in black and white )
I never knew they/them’s were a thing in the 1960s but nice virtue signalling to cast Stings child ( thanks google ) in a lead role.
Them’s always been around they just didn’t get bent out of shape if you called her Sir

Re: Fallout
- somebody needs to convince me to finish the game.
I recently started Fallout 3 - which I assume the show is based on. But I find it... a chore... to go back to, compared to other options.
Do I bother continuing, or do I just watch the TV show, and tick that piece of nerd-culture as ticked-off-via-shortcut?

FO3 is 16 years old - I don't think it's possible to convince people to play games that old they haven't played before, let alone convince them to continue if it doesn't appeal.
Fallout the TV series has elements I recognise of FO3, FO4 and FO New Vegas. Even with the upcoming update to FO4, I'd just watch the series and be done with it.

So is fallout only worth watching if you've played the game then?
I’m assuming so, as I’ve not played the game and have found the TV series pretty much unwatchable despite Walton Coggins, who’s is good.
-
@Bones
I've only watched Ep1 but thus far tend to agree with @Catogrande.I will persevere as I've read loads of + reviews that say you don't need to know the games but I don't know for how long.
Parts of it were good but it was all over the place. I had to properly watch it to follow the plot and that's not really what I'm after on a Sunday night

We Were the Lucky Ones
Family of Polish Jews trying to survive, and then i assume reunite after WWII
3 Episodes in, it's pretty good, but it's not exactly uplifting.
You know the worst part? The first 3 episodes are still early in the war, and you are watching these people still have hope, thinking they just have to battle through this latest little set back, all the while you know it is going to get exponentially worse.

The last of us was terrific and I never played the game.
The Resident Evil movies were ultimately pretty shit on the whole and I played the games loads.
Conclusion. Don’t play the games.
I’m looking forward to Fallout

Late to this.
Watched first two episodes of Season 1 last night.
Very, very good.
-
@MiketheSnow thought season 1 was very good also, haven't started season 2
-
We've tried to get into this twice, but just couldn't. Surprised us as it's been recommended by friends who are usual bang-on.

Series 1 is great. Take care with S2...

IMO S2 is still worth a watch, it’s got plenty of ott violence and of course Dixon, but…
