Re: BLEDISLOE 3
As a fervent All Black supporter am I the only one embarrassed by Johnson and Marshall tonight?
-
I assume you're new to the Fern?

Mute button is your friend. Haven’t listened to a rugby test in ages.
Quite enjoy the NPC commentary teams, although Sumo is starting to grate a bit.

The FTA station here has Gordon Bray (who used to do all the Wallabies games when Buddha Handee was still involved) and Matt Burke, with Nathan Shape on the sideline.
It's preferable to the pay TV option of Kearns etc but Burke sirens most of his time telling the Wallabies to chuck it wide with zero justification.

We had the Aussie comms here in Pomgolia and I thought they were ok actually.
Kearns a bit whinge at times as usual, but all in all, not bad.
Did have to laugh at "Wyatt Crockett, the most penalised player in world rugby" though.

@stargazer I try to block them out but somehow the bastards get through.. I like to hear somethings like injury tests results replacements etc. The disease has spread to the NPC where we get bombarded with useless stats and every try is a great one. I presume this ‘ fan boy ‘ approach is at sky’s behest but surely we know and accept that not every game /play /try is going to be a great one. Plus dont let me get started on the league copying young ladies they seem to have introduced
-
found it amusing when Marshall said something along the lines of 'I dont mean to talk about him, but i'm just gonna blurt it out...'
Hate to be the one to tell you Justin, all you do is blurt shit out!

Don't you miss the ground noise and the whistle?

Not really.

I'd rather stab my ears with a fork. Repeatedly.

@antipodean Yes. The attempts to give everyone a nickname loosely based on the place they grew up or went to school are, regrettably, still in place.

last week's cantabs loss commentator: SUMO
this week's cantabs loss commentator: NESBONO TJ.
Sumo & Nesbo calling the cantabs games. The commentary booth windows, a standard, transparent consistency without TJ's steamy red & black self-love fogging up the whole show, no sign of his gallons and gallons of man-spunk sluicing down the panes
NO TJ.
Ergo, visa visor, THE CANTABS COLLAPSE WITHOUT THEIR #1 CHEERLEADER EXHORTING THEM ON TO GREATER HEIGHTS. No sideline Smithy either, buttressing his liege's ear with breathy and breathless pied-up incantations of the glory of Izzy. Fat Guts Smithy must be currently bedside at the infirmary ward, plucking Izzy's truss around straight for him, his hand lingering just that beat too long under the motherfucking bedcovers.
Yet another magnificent rant. Bravo .

@rocky-rockbottom that's odd, as noted by nepia, Smith is solid hurricanes.
His love for Israel Dagg is a love that transcends teams. Probably warps space and time too, it is that strong.
Smith supports the Hurricanes, officially, but you can tell where his heart lies.

Nah, he loves Dagg, but he loves the Canes equally, he'ss from the Poo (not the Bay
), is obsessive about the Bay, and loves Beudan only slightly less than Israel.

Thought I'd crank out an old thread!
Why the hell do they now do this cut to coaches box thing around the twenty minute mark? Does anyone like it or get anything out of it?
I'm sure they copied from a sport overseas, they don't have any ideas of their own. The only situation I can think of is the NBA coaches get interviewed after each quarter

It's just awkward and boring.
"Hey Leon, some good stuff has happened, you must be happy with that?"
*Yeah that good stuff has been going well, although a couple of minor bad stuffs, but that other good stuff is promising."
"Yeah and good to see [playerwithonecarrytohisname] getting busy and into the action?"
"Yeah he did something."
Thrilling stuff

Speaking of commentators - Elliot Smith was on the Out Of The Box podcast. He is the Blues radio commentator.
He bangs on about how the Blues can't win games in a row - that their wins come sporadically - specifically stating that none of the 5 Blues wins last year came in succession.
A look at the facts shows that of the Blues 5 wins last year 4 of them came in a row.
I mean seriously?
