Was just thinking of this thread when “Get a haircut” came on the radio today.

Terrible song in the early 90s. Worse now.

Yeah it is and I almost feel bad for having a go at him.

The guy has a cool bluesy voice and some really nifty guitar licks…..

Then again “you talk too much” is just fucken cringy, shite and downright embarrassing.

I mean, look at this, even for the era this is just shithouse.

Anyone seen George Thorogood live (recently)?
According to my phone he is playing in welly this weekend. Just wondering if it’s worth it or if he is cashing his pension?

    Go.

Not seen him, but the place will have a bar (with bourbon scotch beer specials) be pretty chilled and I think the show will be really good.

It’s George Thorogood. What do you honestly have e to lose? I’ve not been let down once by musicians past their prime. Certainly won’t be near his peak (Axl …. ) but it’ll be so much fun.

@MiketheSnow the singer gets points for banging Winona Ryder but loses them again for those jeans.

@Nepia Just because all those songs are Joe Walsh songs sung by the Eagles. Just giving you a hard time. I’m pretty sure you could post some British or Kiwi music that I have no idea about just because we have grown up in different cultures. Enjoy the rugby.

I must have glossed over this originally as I didn't know you weren't/didn't grow up a Kiwi.

Anyway, I was coming on here to admonish you for not mentioning to me that Walsh was briefly a part of the the NZ reggae band Herbs. Which I only just learnt about via wiki.

This is an interesting article about how it came about and how Joe Walsh credits Hawkes Bay 😉 with helping him change his life away from drugs and alcohol: https://www.audioculture.co.nz/articles/rock-roll-rendezvous-herbs

@Tim Adrien Belew is credited on one song, but he played all the lead guitar on this, and some session musician played the drums.

Walsh sounds incoherent when he talks but I think that’s just a hang up from the drug days. Apparently he’s been sober for years

@Nepia Wow. That was really cool. That's funny about the connection with the reggae band.

If he ever does a concert out here in California I'm going to see it. Thanks for sharing.

@MN5 @Tim So many good Alice In Chains songs. And the more you hear of them you realize how good Jerry Cantrell is. Excellent solos and heavy rhythm stuff.
