MOTM All Blacks v Springbokke II
-
Pick your Man of the Match
-
I'll set it up if nobody else is ...
My first poll with the new software. Go easy on me.
3 votes as usual.
-
I can only pick two. Both off the bench.
-
Tricky this week, not many from the first XV jumping out screaming "me!"
-
went with Reex for the 3rd vote..
Not only did he get another try (21 in 20 tests iirc), but he saved a try when there was a 2 on 1.. -
Cane, Savea, TJP.
Savea and TJP shone in contrast to our play before they came on, Cane shone while it was happening around him.
-
@mimic Ioane was very good considering play didn't go his way early. His kick chase was excellent.
-
Cane, Savea and Richie.
-
Have to bear in mind that it is easier to stand out when coming off the bench.
That said, Ardie was huge so he gets a vote. Then the starters Cane was going well before he went off, and Rieko was solid on attack and defense.
-
Which hurricans zealot picked BB?
-
Codie Taylor was excellent again, Ardie was superb off the bench, Scott Barrett was very good once he moved to 6.
-
Savea was good, Ioane was good when he was given anything to do, and for my 3rd I'm trying to decide between Cane being good before going off and Mo'unga being good when coming on. I'll go with Mo'unga to throw the Cantabs a bone.

Wow. Amazing how Ardie has turned it around after being supplanted by Todd in the eyes of the majority of the fern, and justifiably so
-
All reserves this week
Ardie, TJ, Richie
-
Ardie Severe, TJP and Read for me.
Best game Ardie's had in Black (even better than his last test) and TJP just seemed to take the game by the scruff of the neck when he came on.
Read was pretty good in general play but his captaincy when the chips were down was awesome.
-
@victor-meldrew and liked that TJP was controlled rather than all over the show as he's had a tendency to be lately. Good to see him being more accurate but still bringing a real boost in tempo and energy.
-
How many teams play well on a leg from Argentina to South Africa? We scrapped by last year too.
-
If the boks played this good against oz the would have won by 40 points.
-
@mariner4life despite some of the areas that need addressing, we are still very good at scrambling in defence and that saved us a few times when Boks were hard on attack.

He reads the Fern.
It was us, not Hansen, that caused his improvement. -
i was thinking with 15 m to go savea hadnt done much then he got a turnover and turned the game. I have a feeling in the last 3 games that we have changed tactics from what was working earlier in the season
-
@paekakboyz Yep. He's matured as a player and is pushing Smith for the 9 jersey, which is great for Hansen and co.
-
Ardie 1st, then Mounga and finally went with Ioane.
Sorry @ploughboy I respectfully disagree. Ardie came in and really put his head down and hit rucks (something he was accused previously as a "leaner"). He was shifting bodies and making tackles. 3 turn overs with 2 of them game changers, the steal on their own tryline and then the steal to set up his own game winning try. Has really turned a corner.
-
Savea head and shoulders above the rest.

Ardie’s steal on the goalline was The Game-Changer. Boks were ready to score and put the test match to bed. Ardie made sure that didn’t happen.
