    @MN5
Can't remember a NZ summer starting this badly then again I'm from the North, possibly Dunedin summers start like this.

It was 12 degrees max and pouring on Monday, like some kind of cliche of English summer manifesting into reality.

I'm worried this thread will descend into ferners from around NZ extolling the virtues of where they live and that it never, ever rains there.

Barely ever fucking rains here. So suck it.

Playing rugby in the dirt is not as much fun as it sounds, tho.

Anyway we basically pissed away 380 runs there with some woeful fucking shot selection, trying to dominate. Fortunately Pakistan wet themselves at the sight of anything above 300 and made a few shithouse errors of their own.

I hope everybody learned something. The partnerships were

    146
    43
    34
    19
    35
    11
    11
    3
    2
    3

Shit from the tail. But really shit from the middle order.

About as high as your level of triggered outrage when discussing the topic of Warner.

No apparents about it and the bad days in between keep all the bad people out.

We're still playing the game like it's 1999, with Michael Bevan coming in at six to work the ball around at a strike rate of 91.

Guys like Carey, Khawaja, Marsh and Stoinis are nice enough players, but don't strike fear into opponents hearts when they walk out at 2/200.

Maxwell is really our only player who can do the brisk 60 off 30 we need in those circumstances. England have at least three, and so do India.

In both batting and bowling, we are paper thin. It might get us as far as the semis, but I doubt we will go further.

It was a bit of an un-Warner like century from Warner. 50 of his runs came from 12 deliveries with the remaining 57 runs from 99 deliveries. A more successful innings for Warner would be to come in and smash a quick 50 or 70 off 30 or so balls to get the innings off to a flyer.

@NTA no wonder they feel the need to cheat, ๐Ÿ˜‰ you guys ( Aussie fans) are bloody tough on your team. That was a very satisfactory 2 points earned in a perilous rainy round Robin format. A fine win.

When you win, 5 times already ๐Ÿ™‚, its Straya Straya fuck yeah, but until that time it's fucken useless so and so, etc

And yes, the same can be leveled at AB supporters too, but only those that know fuck all about rugby ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Just jiving with you ๐Ÿ™‚

The previous highest number of abandoned games in a World Cup was two, in 1992 (Australia) and 2003 (South Africa). We are now at 4.

Two games were abandoned in 2015 also. Aus/Bangladesh due to rain and the NZ skipper abandoned the final on the third ball of the match.

And it will keep going up and up and up. Comically bad decision by the ICC to hold the World Cup of a sport that relies on it being sunnier all day in one with such a wet, cold climate. I think England will have to build indoor cricket stadia before they are allowed to host the Cricket World Cup again.

As much as it hurts to defend the pommy weather there are some off the mark comments here
For starters this weather is unusual. Looking like wettest June in record.
A few weeks back the weather was great.
I can honestly say I find it drier in London these days than Wellington.
But yeah, itโ€™s really shit at the moment and I wish the good stuff would come back

It still haunts me today that we chose to bat when our number one strength in that tournament was Trent Boult. Letting him at the Aussies when it was hooping around would have put them on the back foot to begin with. Grrr.
