David White is really glad-handing his old mates at Northern Districts!
How so?
I also have some very reliable oil that touring teams request to play at he Mount and often make it a condition. NZC use it as bargaining chip. Indian in particular play quite hard ball over venues. And Bay Oval is the top of their list. -
@Baron-Silas-Greenback I know right, no games in Whangarei!!
-
By the numbers by destination:
Auckland - 4 T20's and 1 ODI (One T20 is still subject to late night consent)
CHCH - 2 T20's and 1 Test
Hamilton - 1 T20, 1 ODI and 1 Test
Tauranga - 1 T20, 1 ODI and 1 Test
Wellington - 2 T20's and 1 TestNapier, Nelson and Dunedin all get 1 T20.
Hamilton and Tauranga the place to be!!!
-
@Baron-Silas-Greenback Obviously Bay Oval is not a green seamer then!
-
Yay Eden Park is actually getting a few games this summer, look forward to taking the boy along. He's finally taken a real interest in cricket and has been asking me to teach him how to play.

I think the first test of the year.. in November is also best played in a location with good climate and drainage.
Bay Oval has by a order of magnitude the best drainage of any venue in NZ -
@Baron-Silas-Greenback Sorry but did not make it clear enough. I was actually referring to the comment you made about the BCCI placing the Bay Oval at the top of their preferred venue list.

ND - 2 tests, 2 ODIs, 2 T20s
Auckland - 4 T20's and 1 ODI
Canterbury - 2 T20's and 1 Test
Wellington - 2 T20's and 1 Test
CD - 2 T20s
Otago - 1 T20No doubt about which association has won the jackpot, regardless of your oil.
Similar story to last summer as I recall.

All this and a boxing day test at the MCG?
Easily the best summer of cricket for NZ ever innit?
Bloody India, ruining world cricket 😏

@Donsteppa said in SPLENDID SUMMER OF CRICKET (Tests/ODI/T20 Schedule):
@Chris-B or perhaps the allocation reflects that over 50% of NZ’s population lives within Auckland and ND.
Proportionately light for Otago perhaps tho.
How many people live in Tauranga and Hamilton? Compared to Auckland?
NDs been given twice as many days (14) of international cricket as the next best Associations (Wellington and Canterbury with 7 each), which aren't Auckland. And they're all being played in Hamilton and Tauranga.
No wonder you guys are able to buy up all the Black Caps!

And why would you do it by association? How is it relevant?

Yes. You basis of accusation is arbitary. He also favored cities with low latitudes. I am asking how association is relevant, you are the one that claimed it was. You obviously think White is corrupt, and based his decisions on who he knows. Who is the CEO of BOP cricket and how does he know White?Clue.

@Donsteppa We have the same problem with Cantabs.
But, there's no matches anywhere in that holiday window.
There will be once you have one and a half million of them on your doorstep!

@Baron-Silas-Greenback Did you delete my amusing post, Baron?
That's my second deletion in about 20 years - a memorable moment!
No idea about the CEO of BoP cricket. Google suggests Chris Rapson. Is it you?

Nope, I am way nicer, and not an accountant.
There is 2.35 million people living within 3 hours of Tauranga. Which region that missed out on a decent amount of games has a higher population within an easy drive?
Lets look at your beloved Nelson. How many people live within 3 hours drive? -
@Baron-Silas-Greenback Nelson has got roughly what we deserve. We've built an excellent facility, but we don't have a big population - though if there are games between 25 December and 7 January then there's a vast influx of Cantabs.
If you can explain why Tauranga and Hamilton collectively warrant all those days of cricket compared with especially Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch (but also the various CD venues) I'm interested to hear.

Population, attendance records and facilities. And that doesn't even take into account touring team preferences, and yes they do get a say.
Each deserve roughly the same amount of games as Wellington and Christchurch. And significantly more than Dunedin and other small cities.
And you dont have a 'vast' influx from Chch, because Chch isnt that big to start with, live within 3 hours drive of a city of 1.7 million and get back to me.
You want to figure how many Englishman and and Indians live within a 3 hour drive of Hamilton or Tga?who exactly should have got games ahead of Tga and Hamilton? Who didnt get the right amount? Lets get specific rather than you just throwing corruption allegations against David White
-
@Baron-Silas-Greenback don't forget half the black caps live in Tauranga, and I think they've moved their training base up there. So it's kind of the 'home' of NZ cricket players now.

Yup, the downside being we might lose more than we win! But great to have so many world class players visiting our shores.

From what I hear Christchurch turned down the offer of a test match v England in favour of a 20/20 instead.
This makes me pretty angry, devalues the members ticket I have considerably.
Does Hagley have lights?
