Think both sides can take something from that game.

Wales held composure from 70 min mark but looked really shaky in the 2nd half under pressure. They will know they almost blew it.

Oz all over the place in 1st half but came back strongly. Knew what to do after being 15 points down.

Both Oz and Wales seem to improve during tournaments and wouldn't write either off as contenders.

Cheika is salty as fuuuuuck!! That interview was one Wayne Bennett would be proud of

And in the most unbackable odds thus far this year, Cheika has a meltdown.

Not that he calmly reflects they lost by four points, or that he selected a donkey halves pairing.

I thought that was pretty mild for him TBH.

    Wait until the press conference

Yeah, getting the popcorn ready now.

Cheika knew he had to pull one out of the bag after Schmidt’s post game performance last night...

That second half way great, way to force your way back into the game. Muzza's psychic energy was frothing tonight!

Oz looked so much better with the halves replacements. Although Genia did some great work around the ruck.

Reffing, seemed pretty fickle at times. Not keen on how often the TMO is trying to get into the game. Set a pretty low (high) bar after that first call.

Thought Wales were lucky to not get a yellow for penalties on their line. When two-dads got his try there was a welshman clearly playing the ball on the ground. And the first 2nd half try for Oz weren't Wales on their 3rd penalty? If Oz don't score is a man off for 10 a better deal? Bird in the hand I guess 😁

    Great watch!!

I only saw parts of the almost-comeback as I was out watching my daughter on stage at a local theatre production.

I hear Kerevi got penalised for fending someone. 🤔

And that the selection of Foley straight into 10 was utter crap. 🤷‍♂️

    That'll do me.

World Rugby have announced that Australian coach Michael Cheika is coach of the year.

“We know they lost against Wales but Aussie did better than expected, so we feel it deserves a reward.”

There's a bee's dick in that intercept try. And we never looked at it.

I'm with the Aussies, the TMO protocol is completely broken. Fuck them off, they are good for fuck all. Skeen is the villain today.

And I hate myself for talking about refs after a game of that quality.

How many kms did AWJ run today?

Wales could do with a carrier in their back row.

On the flipside: Toomua got greedy with the last kick for touch. Another 5 metres back and we were still just as threatening.

Had our chances despite a reportedly shit first half, and didn't take them.

England will give us a QF exit, and I can get on with enjoying the other games.

    🤔

OR we beat England and I laugh.

Either way: expectations met or exceeded

(The part of my brain that runs a suburban club secretly hoped we would win the whole thing - makes recruiting the kiddies much easier)

@NTA a lot of water to go under the bridge yet. England still have to play Argentina and France.

If I'm cheika I drop Pocock, genia to the bench, and Foley. Otherwise that team went pretty well, and they ran a good Welsh team very close.

    Ref was good.

    TMO was bad.

But, 2 tmo interventions and no one got a card, I'll take that.

Rest of it all washes up pretty much even. No howlers. Biggest decision - Wales could have got binned for repeated fouls on their line, but Aus scored anyway, but another 7 or 8 mins could have been left on a hypothetical yellow.

Just a small shout-out to technology. I'm in an airplane somewhere over the Ta$man sea and I'm able to watch this live via kayo and a vpn. Bloody outstanding times that we live in right now.

Just a follow-up to this. Although ok for the majority of the game (standard def, small buffering every 3 or so mins). Come the last 30 mins it slowed considerably, ended up pausing it and finishing it while waiting for my bags. So a nice-to-have but don't rely on it for the big matches.
