Dying

@Rembrandt yeah been a busy year and I'm only good at exercising in the morning unless it's team sport, but a bing knee not coming right (vicious cycle) has put paid to that. Eating better though so at least I'm a fair bit more away from the ton than I was this time last year!
Joints suck, knee was my last one. It's not just the injury but everything connected and being out of balance. Latest theory on mine is that my ankle issue is actually my calf. Injured ankle, use it less, strength goes in other parts of the body, new injury occurs, rinse and repeat. Hoping there is some great advancements in bionics before I get much older.
I'm super lucky to have a best mate and cuz who is an excellent PT and has written me a brilliant programme that I'm yet to get stuck into because I'm a lazy fuck. Check out his stuff on mobility and flexibility which is his number one - life changing. If you find yourself heading to welly I'd recommend booking a sesh!

He had the new robot aided surgery and the after hasn't been fun for him and his wife.
Only just now, 3 years later can he get an erection with just the phizer rizer (blue pill). Previously, he had to take the blue pill plus inject some other drug directly into the old fella. Can you imagine just how much guts that takes, inject directly into the penis!!!
Needless to say, there sex life wasn't great the past three years but is improving now.Good to hear.
As someone who is subject to ED and has tried Viagra, it bloody works! Problem is I get a migraine - really bad one - 36 hours later. Who knows what else its doing to my cardiovascular system? The fine balance between the anxiety of not performing (a delightful spiral of its own) and going through physical pain and possibly long-term detrimental effects.
After I do my next echocardio stress test on Monday I'll be talking to the cardiologist about Cialis just to give it a try.
He's also throwing terms at me likee Patent foramen ovale to explain why I get vascular backlash after exercise or dick meds. Not what I pictured doing in my early 40s.
What a world!

Did you watch Game Changers on Netflix? They got 3 men to eat a plant based diet and measured the amount and length of erections. Whilst not exactly scientifically rigorous they found much better erections after ditching the meat. Kind of makes sense as animal products often lead to narrowing arteries which can restrict blood flow.

Have not seen it, but heard that.
Also seen advice that says it's more about reducing cholesterol than anything, which plants help with.

@chimoaus what do people eat when they ditch meat....
Alot more veges. Meat is not bad for people. If I ever turned vegetablist, it wouldn’t be because I love animals, it would be because I really hate plants and would take pleasure in knowing they died for me.

A mate trolled a vegan colleague about drinking beer, and the exploitation of yeast. You know they breed billions of tiny yeast organisms, hold them in pens, and then unleash them on sweet wort just to watch them die and then filter them out of the beer. How can anyone in good conscience drink the product of their labours?
Some funny stuff right there.

@nzzp Sort of funny but it’s beer mate. Don’t be messing with my head about beer
what are ya, a vegan?
Coming back from the US this week, NZ is absolutely blessed with high quality beer. We live in paradise people, don't sneeze at it.

Christ on a bike, big Sam may have trouble rising to the occasion, but the size of your balls cannot be underestimated.
Not satisfied with being one of the very few Aussies regularly posting on a kiwi rugby forum, you've also admitted to being a bit of a softy.
Full credit to you fella, seriously. A Kirwan moment.

Right so starting this week, the runup to Christmas looks like:
- $800 - echocardio stress test
- $200 - skin cancer removal
- $220 - dermatologist follow up to 2 + maybe a biopsy*
- $???? - fuck knows how much (probably thousands) on an esophageal echocardiogram to see if the hole between my atria is the cause of migraine and other vascular issues.
And the fucked thing is Medicare will cover some of this, but private health won't cover the rest. Fluffybunnies.
*If you get a mole/lesion under your fingernail or toenail, medical types get very nervous and/or excited.

I was having lunch with my MIL today and the topic of smoking came up and how times have changed. She remembered when smoking on a plane was allowed, she then says "Oh I still have the AirNZ handout from 1969"
Anyone else remember those smoking candy sticks as kids? Funny how times change.
Aussies were a little more to the point.
