But they reckon they'll keep the titles and 600k a year security etc. Hmmmmmmm.
Don't have a problem with titles as they cost nowt nor with security costs. I might think Blair was a duplicitous grand-stander only out to enhance his personal wealth but still think it's right he gets police protection - as does Farage & his family.
Actually have a lot of time for Harry and respect his decision - he seems to have put his young family first which is admirable - but that's it. You leave the job, you don't get paid.

Harry has a history of rebelling against being a royal. I reckon that was part of the attraction to Meghan.
Meghan is copping it but I wouldn't be at all surprised if Harry is the one that made this happen. She's endured loads of racism and other abuse, and given they have a kid now, I wouldn't be surprised if he said fuck being a royal anymore let's move out of the UK.
I also don't buy the line that they didn't consult the Queen or royal family. Their statement says they'd been in talks for months. If those talks don't go anywhere then its hardly surprising that they just cut their losses and made the decision to go. The only part that would have been a surprise to the Queen is that they actually went ahead and did it.

I certainly don't buy that this is a 100% Meghan driven move, which a lot of outlets are stating either.

She's received plenty of criticism for her actions, which is part of the job. A lot of people claiming this is racism. But social media aside (and that's global) I don't think I've seen her exposed to it at all.

I completely buy it. They said internal talks, which quite clearly was between the two of them. Can't see why the palace would lie.

I must have missed that. Was this before or after she started dating Harry?
There were the usual articles in the left-wing press arguing that as she was the first and only "black princess" it proved the UK was racist (they also argued that William marrying a white girl proved the UK racist...). And there were, no doubt, loads of racist comments on twitter about her - just as there are on say, Boris Johnson.
Sure, the appalling UK press went after her and she found that difficult and that brought out the usual, lazy, "it's only coz she's black" comments from rent-a-mouths like Stormzy & Lenny Henry
But the Press also went after Diana, Charles, Anne, Camilla, you name it, in a far more vicious way - and they weren't black.

Yeah, the only "mainstream" criticism of the two I've seen has been in regards to seemingly wanting the trappings and benefits of royalty without the duties/ongoing profile/sacrifices.
No doubt making this decision after the wedding, titles, renovations, publicity/profile for Meghan will put that to rest.
It certainly has to fall in the 'there isn't enough time in the day' basket, but saying that there was anything but fringe racist is ridiculous.

At some point, you'd like to think the racism rent-a-crowd will realise that continuing labelling criticism of any sort at people of colour, substantially diminishes the ability to tackle real racism.
Yep. It helps the likes of Tommy Robinson to prosper by claiming PoC are getting a free ride and real problems of racism can be swept under the carpet, or dismissed as scaremongering from "the race relations industry"

Couldn't resist....

Chapeau!

Don’t want to be (senior) royals and to pay their own way.
Immediately launch Sussexroyal.com.
i.e don’t want the full role, just to trade off the benefits.

The only time I’ve ever really watched anything outside of that god awful show suits with her in it was an interview about poverty in Africa she managed to turn into a sob story about her . She cane across as a self absorbed cow , he’s a moron for not being able to see through it.
She’s quite hot though , so there’s that .

Stunning and brave decision by these impressively self aware young battlers.
Thoughts and prayers that they'll be alright on their courageous journey
( do we have a wanking emoji?)
Nope, a vomiting one will suffice 🤮

She's been exposed to plenty of racism, whether it's on social media or it's the Katie Hopkins "she doesn't look like a royal the way Kate does" type comments and articles. It's also true that the majority of criticism she's copped has had nothing to do with racism. Both things can be true.
I totally agree with you about the crowd that cries racism at everything and how ridiculous they are, but just because they're wrong with their "The UK is racist" comments doesn't mean there aren't a significant number of racists in the UK (as there are in EVERY country). I feel like we're getting to the point now where people are so fed up with the 'RACISM IS EVERYWHERE' crowd that they won't even acknowledge it is still an issue lest they give an inch to the far left.
I also really don't think internal talks would just be Harry and Meghan talking about it with each other for months. I'd say what blindsided the Royal family is releasing a statement without their consent. That's what they'd be pissed about, I very much doubt the idea of them stepping back has just come out of nowhere.
-
@MajorRage I'll just add, after re-reading your comments, that I agree that the reason they're leaving is nothing to do with racism or the UK being a uniquely racist place like some of those left wing nutters are claiming.

RACIST! has now become the joke insult for kids in the UK. You don't like my haircut? RACIST! You won't lend me some money? RACIST! It's actually really funny.

I've seen it happen to my ginger Arab (untold amounts of anger) best mate. Found a good woman and lost the fire.
That's what happens to a Ranga that finally finds someone who'll shag them.
Testosterone - gone.I'm pleased that he's happy though, angry Arabs can be scary.
