I think a temporary alcohol free society will free up hospitals and emergency departments far more effectively. The effects would be felt in every hospital the very next Friday night.
I don't think firing 16 year experienced nurses that have had covid is the best way to free up hospitals. I bet you don't either.
If I insist others must forego their principles to help the greater good, then I must be prepared to give up mine for the greater good. I'm sure that's the overlying health
Ok I follow your position a bit better now.
For me, I have to discard too many other factors to agree with you. I do honestly stress about the effects of group think snd ppl not listening enough to other views tho so it is good to properly nut down your position.
Only rebuttal I’ll say, is that I err more on employer rights over employee. Always have and now as a small biz owner, always will. Government pays medical staff. So if they say you must be vaccinated …..

@rapido ya have to worry about place like India, that have a long road to a decent level of vaccination and not where near the same levels of medical care according to a friend we have over there
They've got plenty of spares.

@antipodean you'd have to think thier almost half a million deaths is likely to be double, if not considerably more.

Yeah, even with their famous adherence to bureaucracy, I don't see how they'd have accurate numbers. Everything I witnessed there outside of staying at The Oberoi was an exercise in "lowest possible effort".

@crazy-horse he is a MD and he works at CNN. You know the network that for years falsely asserted Trump was in be bed with Russia when anyone with half a brain knew he was American as apple pie. He is a Md and TV commentator right? So I would expect a better response unless he knew he did not have a leg to stand on.
If American apple pie is half-Scottish. Sure.

Unexplainable drop in cases here in Japan over the last month or so. The city I live in hasn't had a case for a while and Tokyo had 26 people yesterday. I heard something like a 98% drop in cases. The surge during the Olympics was with the unvaccinated age groups who all have been pretty much covered now. Vaccinations plus masks, social distancing, etc seem to be working.

I don't know anyone who gives a toss about Covid around here, we still have socially distancing measures but apart from that, life is pretty much normal. Sadly, I'll have to start teaching face to face again, which means more time on the train (which I hate, not because of Covid).

Never voted Democrat. Have voted centre-right. And Trump has given them far more money than I ever would. Generous guy.
