I'm really impressed by the composure of Dupont, the half back, great clearance work.

Their younger players have been impressive - talent coming thru from their U20 teams

Kruis powers over after good work by Farrell. Looks like he was held up. Owens right there. No try.

Boithier, the French 15. Been absolute class today.

Antonie Dupont only 23, plays for Stade Toulousain, behind Jerome Kaino. Looks very good indeed. Huge potential.

Time running out for England here. Only 90 seconds to go. The crowd sing La Marseillaise again.

England have a penalty. Farrell takes it for the losing bonus point. Over.

    France win 24-17.

Brian Moore correct that France won that with their big defensive work before and after half time.

England defence was terrible. Was Moonhead away in a journey?

Nigel was very lenient on England’s professional fouls as well

I was impressed by the French. They sought to bully the English and made sure they took their chances. A bruising encounter in rugby conditions.

Even before the French got away to a good lead the commentators were being very critical of Eddie Jones

Was that negativity common? Is Eddie over staying his welcome?

@Duluth There was lots of criticism from various pundits about Furbank at Fullback and Curry at 8 before the game. Both were poor selections.

More generally, a mediocre 6 Nations and Eddie Jones could be on his way or face changes to the England coaching structure. There is some unhappiness that there is only one English coach (Simon Amir) in his set-up now.

Bugger. Just bugger. Well done Les Bleus. Eddie’s baffling selections did not work, the lesson that seemingly cannot be learned. Odd really when after the RWC final he fessed up about making selection errors, playing blokes out of position.

Early days, that's for sure, but this French outfit could become the dominant team in the NH in a very near future. They will probably solve their scrummaging problems, and with Penaud back on the wing, they will add more sting to their backline.

The anti-Eddie campaign has really been there right from the start. It was just shelved during times of success.

Jones has just made it clear that he's uninterested in sucking up to the media. And if there's one thing the media don't like, it's people that don't suck up to them.

    Bothwick?

But he is off to Leicester straight after the 6 Nations.
