It looks like face masks are no longer mandatory at schools under Orange?
Someone needs to post a bullet point list
-
@no-quarter correct, although schools can choose to keep them.
Schools, restaurants no longer needed, but shops, public transport, libraries still need them
Logic in there somewhere, surely...
-
@canefan Since you asked -
We encourage you to wear a face mask whenever you leave the house.
You must wear a face mask:-
on domestic flights
-
on public transport, this includes Cook Strait Ferries but does not include passengers within their allocated carriage on specified Kiwirail services or when you are on a ship that does not have an enclosed space for passengers
-
at indoor arrival and departure points for domestic flights and public transport
-
if you are aged 12 years or over on Ministry of Education funded school transport and public transport
-
in taxis or ride share vehicles
-
inside a retail business, for example supermarkets, shopping malls, pharmacies, petrol stations, and takeaway food stores
-
inside public facilities, such as museums and libraries, but not at swimming pools
-
at a vet clinic
-
visiting the indoor area of a court or tribunal — unless the judicial officer does not require them
-
at premises operated by local and central government agencies, social service providers, and NZ Police
-
in the public area of premises operated by NZ Post Limited
-
when visiting a healthcare service, for example a healthcare or aged care facility.
-
-
Acting Prime Minister Grant Robertson stands by Managed Isolation and Quarantine (MIQ) remaining until February despite top health official's advice that the system was no longer justified in November last year.
-
@Duluth TBF I think they ignored plenty of other advices from health officials at other points along the way too (didnt the original advice say to shut NZ borders, completely to everyone) so no surprises they have continued to do things thier own way...
My understanding is so many who were meant to pay for MIQ didnt, and now there will be a bunch more who wont be (I believe these are usually invoiced post stay?)
-
@taniwharugby going against health advice for the sake of limiting economic impacts makes sense as they should be trying to achieve a balance, but going against health advice and implementing more restrictions than what is necessary is quite another and points to politicians being drunk with power.
-
the fact i have to get a test tonight juuuuust as the pharmacy is closing to satisfy the entry requirements to get in to little old fortress NZ still makes me laugh
Seriously, the fuck is it achieving?
I am actually more worried about catching it in NZ than i am in Aus. Okay i'm not worried at all, but the math shows how fucking ridiculous it is that this rule is even still in place.
-
@mariner4life Same's true of lots of places though. Not saying it's right - just that it's not unusual

is it not?
I mean, Fiji i understood. there is fuck all there
But the numbers in Aus and NZ are exactly the same. What is the point?
Where else do you need a test to travel to now?
-
@Rapido said in Coronavirus - New Zealand:
Looks like Australia themselves only removed that requirement 11 days ago?
yes, and it should have come off months ago.
what exactly are we trying to keep out?
-
anyway, apologies, let this thread die again.
the whole sub-forum can be burned now i reckon. just kill it.

I'm really surprised that NZ still has it, will have to be prepared. I honestly thought that they'd dropped it if you were triple vaxxed and a kiwi.

That is the answer, what is the question?

just a positive case, not a death, hopefully.
