Everyone's sample size is different. As much hell, as I went through with my girl it's nothing compared to what some of my friends have been through. I talking younger not teen years, in trouble with the cops etc.
@mariner4life it'll seem like they're the worst fucktards in the world at this point in time but I'm sure you know someone that never says "no" to their kids. They'll pay worse than you in the end when those kids grow up into entitled arseholes. Shouting at your kids every now and then is good for them.
Boisterous boys with caring parents usually come right. I wish my son was more that way inclined a lot of the time.

yeah, every so often...
I know they are good kids. They can just be so annoying! life's hard enough without having to constantly "parent"
-
@mariner4life we had parent teacher interviews a fortnight ago, on talking to the teachers, I dont think we were talking about the same kids that live at my place!
Apparently they are awesome at school, helpful, friendly, positive, not noisy smart mouthed, ungreatful knuckle draggers haha
-
the wife showed me a nice quote around that the other day
it was something along the lines that if your kid is great in public, and a shit at home, it means they have learned to be respectful, but feel loved enough to play up at home
i reckon i can cling to that

Ahhh, the Parenting thread. I think I might spend a little time here over the next few weeks...
We are 16 days into my solo parenting stint, and so far its gone pretty well. I've definitely yelled at them, called them ungrateful, been generally grumpy. And feel like a cnt straight afterwards.
Had lots of good times too. Have to keep reminding myself that 2020 is a fucking weird year for them too. A global pandemic, empty streets, policy presence, constant conversation about the dire economy etc, and for my kids, all this away from th familiarity of their own home, friends, school and activities.
I need to be softer
The thing I hate the most is when they're mean to or unsupportable of each other. But I also know its totally natural.
Starting a road trip over 4 days to Palmy, where we have 2 weeks, then its Sydney for 14 days of hotel quarantine. This will test us!
And hold your fucking jokes about how Palmy will be worse than quarantine, you're all so bloody predictable...
-
i do not envy that quarantine
-
@mariner4life yea my mum always used to say 'at least you buggars know how to behave at other peoples places' to me and my brother.
-
@mariner4life they seem to be putting kids into serviced apartments rather than hotel rooms at the moment so fingers crossed. Having a separate bedroom and a kitchen to cook in, and possibly even a balcony, will make a huge difference.

Yeah, I just spotted some Serviced Apartments yesterday that are being used for Quarantine in Chinatown (near Railway Sq) - there's police there, but also "private" security guards.

FFS aren't teens emotional fluffybunnies?
The boy (16) has been mooning after this burd* at school so his emotional rollercoaster has been running on a mix of pure hormones and nitrous.
Anyway after a few weeks of being a grumpy little shit he opened up to his mum about how the girl likes some other dude (different school) as well. So while she's probably loving the attention, I'll bet she's trying to keep these two fuckwits at bay.
Meanwhile Mrs TA is all stressed about it which is distracting her emotionally and physically from my carnal needs even more than usual.
Yes, ultimately it is all about me. But it would be nice if people stopped fucking with my rhythm.
*she's the year above him so go lad!

Sounds as though if luck goes his way, he could be getting more action than you.
Or me.

@Catogrande he came in last night crying with relief that she still says she has feelings for him.
He was using the word "love" a bit which ii found both hilarious and cute.
Now we will see if she just felt pressured into doing it or is actually keen on him.

Yes we remember, it was one of my finest moments.
Good to hear 2020 is still going well for Mrs NTA there -
