@antipodean it's horrible, isn't it. Imagine that as an attack ad.
It's not like Trump would put those videos on his Twitter of give him a special nickname or anything.....................

@Tim what's his relationship to the wee girl?
If he knows her and the family there's nothing wrong with it, except the sensational camera zooming.
I don't know the back story but it's a bit dramatic to see anything wrong in that clip in my opinion.
Or am I supposed to be outraged due to ages, genders and races involved in some pretty normal human interaction
Normally I'd agree with you but he has form. There's touchy feely then there's creepy. Biden is definitely creepy. This is a guy who swims nude when he has female secret service agents guarding him.

Obviously there’s something sexy about getting naked with a woman who can kill you in 30 different ways but chooses not to.

Terrific article by Victor Davis Hanson
.....................The 2016 election and refutation of the ruling class did not signal that those without such educations and qualifications were de facto better suited to direct the country. Instead, the lesson was that the past record of governance and the current stature of our assumed best and brightest certainly did not justify their reputations or authority, much less their outsized self-regard. In short, instead of being a meritocracy, they amount to a mediocracy, neither great nor awful, but mostly mediocre.........................

Romney is basically declaring he will defend the interests of the GOP establishment against those of Trump. (globalism, weak immigration policies, remove tariffs(he's lying that he would praises taking on China) under the veil of disliking his character. It's all bullshit.

I found this quite interesting.
It details the amount of money and ranking of the top lobbying groups in the US.The Chamber of Commerce is the top group - think GOP Establishment and neo-liberals like Clinton.
I am not sure what the realtors are spending so much money on.
Open Society Policy group is George Soros' brainchild.
Alphabet = Google
Clearly pharma and health insurers also spend big.

So the thread turns full circle and we're starting to talk Primaries.
Elizabeth Warren says she's running.
Wondering the Fern's collective thoughts about her (all I know is DJT called her Pocohontas), and who else may be in the frame.
Found this on SBS:

Clinton is not a neo-liberal. I would argue that the bulk of the GOP isn't either
Really?
An example (of many) that she was.

She isn't stupid (one of the most tedious things about politics is the people who think anyone who disagrees with them is either stupid or part of an evil conspiracy)
She actually presents her ideas coherently and with a reasonable amount of detail (even though I disagree with her)She is not a good politician though. Some are predicting as many as 30 Dems to run (last time was 17 Republicans).
That means it will get nasty early and I think she will struggle to defend herself coherentlyHer biggest problem is authenticity. There is a perception she's playing a part.. I've heard some of her positions/writings from the 90's will make it difficult to keep the left of the party onside. Thats meant to be her base.

That article conflates free trade with neoliberalism. Trade is only a small part of it.
So what about domestic policy? She advocated Keynesian stimulus, more regulation and taxes in finance markets and limiting the 'disruptive elements' of capitalism via government intervention. She's for a larger State, involved in more parts of peoples lives.. she does believe that a market system is still needed to generate wealth, however it needs to be constrained
None of which is neoliberal. She's talked in detail about all of this for decades. The term neoliberal is heading the same way as neo-con. Some people, including certain column writers, are using it as short hand for "people/stuff I don't like".

(...Oprah? Seriously?)Too much baggage. That whole native American thing will be impossible to shake. That DNA test stunt was beyond bizarre.

Elizabeth Warren is seen as a sell-out by Bernie supporters when she endorsed Hillary over Bernie. This + Pochahontas = no chance.
I question whether Bernie supporters have a memory that long.

This , neoliberal is what you say when you think fascist is too much of a stretch.
Wasn’t she opposed to gay marriage until 2013 or so? -
