Got underway past night with my Brisbane Heat side taking out the Melbourne Stars in a very one sided affair, winning by over 100 runs.

Poor old Colin Munro ended up getting stranded on 99 not out when a century looked very much a good thing. Things just didnt go his way in the last 3 or so overs.

I really thought the stars would have won that with the links of Burns, Maxwell and Stoinis, as well as the addition of Olly Stone. Maxwell still battling injury issues by the looks.

Next up tonight Sydney Sixers hosting the Renegades

Unbelievably, the Sydney Sixers are appealing the ban for Tom Curran. The only thing I can see is that the ban should have been so much longer.

Lisa Sthalekar's terrible take on the incident is the latest reminder that former players don't always make for good commentators.

incredible isn't it? the footage is damning. I hope the appeal results in a doubling of the ban

Given how hard it is to find Umpires and referees at all levels of sport...

@Donsteppa Rachael Haynes is the one deciding to appeal it? Surely that’s not the ex-player Rachael Haynes

Ump should have dropped the shoulder and laid him out.

The Sydney Sixers have been quite detached from reality on this one. And yet Lisa Sthalekar, Brad Hogg, and now Mark Waugh have also read it quite badly out of the hand as well...

Finals start tomoorow with Brisbane hosting the Sixers in the major semi
Saturday is Perth hosting Adelaide in the minor semi

Brisbane finished first and only lost once all year. But that won't mean much now as two of their top order have now left to play elsewhere. The Heat's bowling attack is awesome though, so they're still a chance.

Perth still look the best team, but that last ball loss to the Sixers now mean they have to win 3 straight knock out games.

@mariner4life broke a few records with that hit out.

Final should be a decent game.

But why mid week when the kids who are the target audience are off to bed, with absolutely zero hype?

Comes back to the BBL extending itself beyond school holidays.

    More is not necessarily better.

Was a tight, intense comp with sell out crowds.

And now it's a forgotten extra.

Not that I care that T20 is eating itself.

Long time between BBL wins for us Heat fans but very happy with that. Dominant win!

See the BBL thread is so popular I didn't even know there was one until @Duluth moved my posts ...
