@Virgil wish they'd do that up here for the annoying window washers at major intersections.

Was one guy 'claimed' he could make upto $200 an hour at peak times...public nuisance really, massive issue in Whangarei at present.

Think that still goes on in South Auckland too. Pops up in the news from time time when someone has been abused.

Happens all over the place. A while ago I'd just had my car cleaned and some dickhead came up behind me and "washed" my back window (I.E. left streaks all over it with whatever the fuck was in his bottle) and then demanded money. Said I had none so he demanded I go to the nearest ATM. Then swore at me as I drove off. I have no idea why they don't crack down on it more - one of them is going to get killed by someone when they squirt dirty water all over their Lamborghini or something.

That would trigger me if they did my flamin back window... even if I hadn't just had it washed. I always wave them away.

    Racing Horses have back windows??

They would be welcome to try that to the back of a horse!

Do you really think Hooroo would be allowed on the back of an in-work thoroughbred? I don't care if he's got hands like Damien Oliver - the poor horse couldn't win at the jumpouts after a canter with Hooroo on board.

apparently all down to local bylaws (WDC bans it on intersections they control)

But the ones up here are all hanging on SH intersections (even more dangerous) meaning the Local Council has no jurisdiction as these are under NZTA, who don't have an issue with it.

Worst thing is, many of them have no idea (or don't care) about light sequences, they start cleaning a window as a light turns green, some people just drive, others wait, holding up the traffic. Was at one last week, I reckon there were at least a dozen there trying to wash windscreens, although several were on a 'break' talking to the police...

I wonder if any ferner is gonna do the old 'man those fullas are lucky Craig Clarke didn't WASTE them' post like they did a few years back when John Mitchell's hotel room got invaded.

Because of the team it involves the headline will soon be changed to

Selfish former chiefs captain reluctant to give desperate locals lift to toilet.

re:thread title has anyone actually found an alternative to Stuff yet? Surely wouldnt be that hard to make. You'd just need a wordpress/wix, and a few dozen passworded contributors who can be fucked scouring twitter and facebook for titbits. Yes, basically the same as the staff at Stuff do right fucking now.

spruce it up with some coarse language and unPC slather and hello, instant news source

Who has time to post sport and politics and gossip and movies and food and news of international significance like what Hilary Barry, Millie Elder-Holmes, Polly Gillespie and ex-Bachelor contestants are up to all while using creative insults like fluffybunny and Willis??

    FFS, Rocky.

problem with that, is that ACC being a 'no blame' organization keeps a lot of the ambulance chasing litigation out of NZ, if you stop people using ACC, it will see their Insurers or individuals seek recovery where possible, which will add a further load to our legal system.

Will also probably see ACC being privatized (which has been mooted many times anyway) and NZ end up being a place where you can sue for all sorts as Insurers look to recover losses from at fault parties.

@mariner4life This might put you off?

    http://www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/tv-radio/84193664/Newsreader-Bernadine-Oliver-Kerby-says-Mike-Hosking-mans-time-drama-hilarious

I suppose you could gag her but then it gets creepy.

It is also a relevant article for "the absolute crap of Stuff NZ".

@Godder Mate most people on here would "tap" anybody (or anything for that matter), so not much of a recommendation for Bernie. Just read some of the Off topic threads to see who you are hanging out with...fucking weirdos.

    Yes, I know...
