Yep, both are awesome characters ( Well Cercei is a fucken bitch but she plays it well....I've already expressed my Bronn man love ) and hard to imagine anyone else in those parts
There's a good reason most people can't imagine anyone else playing those parts...
My understanding is their relationship was over before the first season even started. So it seems odd to me that they knew each other was going to star and specifically stated they wouldn't work with each other.
I'd never heard of Jerome Flynn before GoT
I think you're overcomplicating it.....
Perhaps I am. But if someone came to me and said I'm happy to work on this, but I can't be in the same room as this other person, I'd quickly determine which (if any) of them I needed.
Richie Blackmore and Tawera Nikau played this game for the NZ kiwis years ago. Just saying...

Well, only Nikau did ... which was why he had an abbreviated career. Idiot.

Cant recall seeing this gem in here

From what I’ve heard if your name is Richie Blackmore you’re an arsehole that doesn’t get on with anyone

Good solid ‘put the chess pieces in place’ type episode. Some nice chats from some main characters with the Hound and Thomond both earning some belly laughs with their offensive one liners.
The predictable ‘oh fuck there are the white walkers’ ending has set up next weeks episode to be an absolute banger. Already planning a long lunch break for that one.
-
Yeah I really enjoyed it, got a bit teary when Sansa met Theon - pod singing was very pippin in lord of the rings.
We've got four more long episodes where everything is going to go to shit. Can't wait.
Also good to see that the night king is after nothing but death and destruction, means they're not spoiling the books which will certainly be much more nuanced.
Like in the books they're actually not monsters just ethereal and different.
-
FFS Enough with the chess pieces having yarns.
Not many will ever watch that episode twice. Which is indicative. -
@Baron-Silas-Greenback gotta have them do character building stuff so it hurts more when they get killed
-
@Machpants Nope. Anyone who has been paying attention knows the ending will be sad, inconclusive and annoying. People shouldnt need nearly 2 hours of screen chit chat for that...
-
Two rubbish episodes. If you have a short season why waste two with filler? I haven't seen so much padding since the Hobbit.
I don't need action, but there is a lot of plot to advance, and what did they give us? Stuff we already knew.
I could have done without the Thrones reunion tour, should have condensed all of that to one episode.
-
Was that Ghost on the wall next to Sam? Been waiting for him to return, thought it would be a more epic appearance during the battle though.
Another "set the scene" episode, building nicely, and the next episode is going to be epic as fuck. Yeah they could have condensed it down to one episode but I don't mind it.
-
the scene with Arya was a bit of WTF...pretty certain a couple of angles had a body double.
Well lets just hope the last 2, erm, quiet eps are just the calm before the storm.
-
@taniwharugby it was in her contract, no nips!! well, that's what I am assuming.
Some good banter, as an ensemble cast they do have great chemistry - Davos is the man. Looking hard for any one-liners that might tip off the first wave of deaths or betrayals.
Wonder when Sam is going to blow - can imagine him actually killing the night king after being left behind with Bran and co.
-
He's been one step ahead for ever. He's had (thousands?) of years on the weirwood net in the TV series. He's no noob like Bran. He set a trap for Bran to mark him, so he could kill the last 3EyedR - tho Bran took that over and he is still marked. If you note where he was standing when he trapped Bran, yup same rock he trapped Jon and his muppet adventurers on their stupidly conceived trip - he knew he would get them there, and knew Soon-to-be Mad Queen Dany would come with a dragon. That he could kill so he can use the zombie dragon get through the wall.
The plan was far too easy, and it's going to shit
ALso how many times have they mentioned it'll be safer in the crypt? Jesus that's annoyingly awful foreshadowing.
