The standard is basically the Labour Party blog, commenters on it have in the past said that the most recent Labour Party sex offender was a National plant sent to discredit labour. Here’s was they say about Goffs actions
Jesus...they have really undergone some mental gymnastics to justify their support of fascism.

But if we use the logic the left are using to justify the ban... then Davidson should stop talking as her speech is offending some and causing them to act badly.

If you believe Davidson a co leader of the Greens who purports to care about the planets resources but had six children.
I don’t believe her anymore than I believe Cathy Newman feared for her life.

It’ll be interesting to see the Labour fanboys tie themselves in knots defending this. I know three people with cochlear Implants, they make a huge difference to people’s lives.

Can't wait to see how this conflicts the fuck out of my screaming leftie step-brother, who has two kids who have required cochlear implants.

When you ask him make some mention of the billion or so that funds free tertiary education could have been put towards funding this .
I imagine the left wing blogs will pretend this hasn’t actually happened as usual and I’m struggling to see the reasoning behind it. Cochlear implants are the reason my mates kids are able to keep up with their classmates and be in a mainstream school.

They seem to be controversial in extreme deaf communities, those that bizarrely don’t see deafness as a disability (ignoring common sense, and nature).
Wouldn’t surprise me if there is a virtual signalling Labour/Green moron who squashed it for that reason.
It wasn’t a lot of money, for quite a bit of upside.

Is Mojo Mather’s still an mp?
-
Looks like she lost her seat last year. Been advising the Greens since 2006, so wouldn’t be surprised if she still around in some capacity
But I think the sort of virtue signalling I’m talking about wouldn’t come from someone actually deaf. More from someone wanting to be right on.

You’re probably right on both counts . Clark does strike me as a massive fluffybunny on a few levels though so I can see him not giving a shit about whether or not deaf people are able to hear properly. This is after all the same arsehole who lied about shit running down the walls of Middlemore and then promised a job to one of thd people he sacked if he kept quiet about it.
Normally a government has to be well into its third term before they display this kind of arrogance . It took them six months, so at least they’ve achieved something I guess.

Money quote from Mathers when national announced increased fund for implants .
“Green Party MP Mojo Mathers, who is profoundly deaf, said the announcement was "long overdue".
"It is ridiculous that it has taken the minister this long to recognise that the present situation was completely untenable."

He lives about 3km from me, and I haven't seen him in years. Ideal.

Good stuff
Chris Trotter, who is also supporting the effort, says, “We accept the case for blocking genuine hate speech, such as incitements of violence or other illegal activity. But curbing free debate under threat of disruption is neither desirable nor acceptable in a free and democratic society. Truth is not afraid of trigger-words. Truth does not need a safe space. Truth is not a snowflake. Truth can take the heat and most certainly should not be forced to vacate the kitchen in the face of a couple of Alt-Right populists and a politically-correct Mayor.”

I wonder if Trotter will get some backlash from this? He’s an old school lefty that believes in trivial things like the social contract not who uses which toilet .
Yeah was about to say I thought Trotter was a raving lefty

This is not a partisan issue, though I'm sure people will try and turn it into that, so it is good that people from both sides of the spectrum are behind this.
