Anyone watched Longlegs? After all the hype about it being brilliant....sat down and ditched it after about 40 minutes. Clunky and rather boring....does it get better after that?

I loved it from the get go

    Went in blind

Didn’t even know you know who was in it

I gave it a go and shoulda known better. Sorry Mike. I’m with @Bones on this one. Utter shit and beyond stupid. The lead chick basically sleepwalked through every scene and was completely uninteresting ( or maybe just a shit actor )

So slow, so ponderous, so pointless and Nicholas Cage looking like Marilyn Manson and hamming it up was more than I could take….switched it off with about half an hour to go.

    Babe
    Mr Hollands Opus
    Leaving Las Vegas
    Rob Roy
    Waterworld!

I can’t believe no one has mentioned THE best movie of 1995…….

How to go from very promising career to cratering in 120 minutes

I actually preferred Gina Gershons ‘performance’ overall

@antipodean Same team that made The Beekeeper, and will probably hit the same basic action mark we all know and love.

Not a glowing recommendation. Formulaic bargain bin "straight to DVD" as we used to say.

Still better than over 90% of the slop that is released now.

@Tim @antipodean - gotta be honest - I'll be watching that. But there's fucking ZERO chance I'll be paying a cent to do so.

@Tim just what it says on the label, may not meet all your needs, bit it will invariably meet expectations.

    Gettysburg

At over four hours, this should have stayed as a TV miniseries. As a movie it's punishment for history students. The amount of needless scenes feels like everyone involved tried desperately to do a defining moment in America's history justice and no one had the balls to do anything worthwhile in the edit.

Overly romanticised in its portrayal, performances contrast between wooden and overacting, and the dialogue is full of poetic monologues.

If you have to watch it you should start at 3:28 into the movie, when the battle actually begins. IMO all the build up is tedious and unless you're an American with a hard on for Civil War re-enactment give the whole thing a miss.

haha i watched this late last year as well. Fuck it is looooong. And yes, there are a lot of very earnest monologues. And Cartman's character in that particular South Park episode made a lot more sense after watching Sheen.

I still thought it was pretty good.

That sounds over the top but it’s possibly accurate. Good grief there is some absolute shit on Neon and Netflix

Unfortunately true. Which is a sad indictment on the industry these days.

Indeed, long gone are the days where you’d bring home a couple of decent DVDs from the store and way more often than not you’d have a good night watching.

We have SO many options nowadays but it’s extremely hard finding decent ones. Netflix and Neon are full of Liam Neeson/John Travolta/Gerard Butler/Jason Statham turkeys that you just know are gonna be utter shit.

Add Frank Grillo to the list, cool guy, dynamic personality but makes some absolute crap.

    This.

I made the mistake of watching Warrant on Netflix last night. A post civil war western with Neil Mc Donough, who is usually pretty good. By the cringe it was awful. Wooden acting, nonsensical dialogue, cliches by the million, appalling writing and pathetic plot.

    Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

I assume (hope) you're not talking about the classic 80s movie with Christopher Walken?
