Yeah becasue we have been a bastion of cricket tosses in tests.....

fuck, i had to check for myself. We've won the toss 11 times out of 29 tests in the last 3 years.

Oh nuts, and I see we were only able to field ten batsmen.

I thought Ronchi may have been given a shot

We just never win the fucking toss. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. That pretty much invalidates my entire post.

    We lost the toss.

Guess I'm not watching this test.

I'm a little bit ashamed to admit this is also my attitude. I'll leave this one to the masochists and the more mature fans who have that weird ability to enjoy skill by the opposition.

Oh well, recent blackcaps series usually only really worth watching from the second test anyway.

@MN5 Oi!! I did say batting AND bowling!! although I did expand more on the batting side of things...

I think they'll do well on both fronts - and Kane and Rosco can also bowl a bit of spin so we are rocking a 5-spinner attack!!

    "5 spinner attack"....

    I do love your optimism.

Awesome from Wagner, would have thought Paddles had him beat to 100 wickets but worth remembering he took a few years to achieve legendary status.

Oh God. Lost the toss, bowling on a road. No point watching Day 1, then. Just have to hope for a bit of luck or an Indian getting a bit weary and making a mistake.

    Otherwise we are so fucked.

There's a compelling race to see who can rack up a 50 average, might happen in this match !!!!!

.......unfortunately it's between bowlers as opposed to batsmen. I was surprised Sodhi averages 47 compared to Craigs 46.........

Maybe I should have had the cricket on instead of watching yet another depressing Taniwha loss.

Hope we can keep chipping away at them and keep them to a modest total.

Boult to Saha, OUT, tip your hat to the bowler and head off for a cup of tea, because that was unplayable. An inswinger that defies the docile pitch and the lack of atmospheric help. It's that SG seam. So prominent. So useful in the hands of a good bowler. Boult pitches it on middle and off and jerks it in through the gap between bat and pad
    WP Saha b Boult 0 (2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

    Tasty.
