Just watched the pilot for Jean Claude van Johnson. I hope this gets picked up as a series.
The basic premise is JCVD playing himself who's spent the last twenty years intentionally being a shit actor in crap movies as a cover story for actually being a secret agent.

Westworld. Pretty intriguing. Will be interesting to see how it develops.

The trio of series that will get a full season include The Tick, Jean-Claude Van Johnson, and I Love Dick. All three shows will premiere on Amazon Prime Video in 2017 for Amazon Prime members.

I'm going to have a look at this Stranger Things when I get a chance. Big fan of the horror genre, the wife is not.
-
@antipodean the 80s feel is superbly done

Neither is Mrs TR but she enjoyed this.

Finished Narcos - good series, although given it follows Pablo, as he nears his inevitable end (sorry bout the spoiler) you almost start to feel sorry for him, how the mighty had fallen, then he goes and does something and you think, nope arrogant fluffybunny!
I see why they named it Narcos now, rather than anything to do with Pablo, as it leaves them open for another series.
Interesting to do some research afterwards and see how much they tweaked around with timelines in terms of deaths/arrests etc. Certainly made for a good story.

@Smudge Jegga put me onto the book Killing Pablo, I remembered lots of bits, and then some I didnt remember, but then they did say they changed stuff, for the most part it followed pretty well.
From the book, I got the impression the public ended up hating Pablo, I dont think the TV quite portrayed it as well as they did in s1 when he was a national hero and the change in attitude toward him, but he ended up a fat and lonely man before the end.
-
@taniwharugby did they mention his obsession with renovating the toilets at his safe houses?

Also finished Trapped - good series, keeps going with the twists and turns in that freezing MF little town! I did question the need for freezers alot of the time and how they managed to be out in the cold so often with seemingly alot less clothing than required.
I enjoyed the 2nd series more than the first, exactly for the "how the mighty have fallen" angle. The final episode, which showed the actual photo's was pretty eye opening. If I new how to do spoilers I would discuss in more detail

@dK when you click reoly, in the bar above with options to bold, italic etc, there is a little eye third form the right....thats it!

The photo I was referring to was the one where Steve and the Colombian local police where holding up Pablo's corpse as if they had just shot a lion.
The episode that was the most powerful was the one where they opened with the young family getting ready for the day and they heard bomb's going off in the distance, and then the young girl was blown to pieces at the end. You knew it was coming, but faark me did that pull the heart strings

Anyone been watching Luke Cage, the Jessica Jones spin off? I'm into episode three and still not sure really. It has it's moments and one or two good characters but I'm not sure if there's enough in it for a whole series, let alone further seasons.

Gotta be hard to follow Jessica Jones... I went into that with very low expectations, and was rather pleasantly surprised.
Of course - the bad-guy, and how it was played by Alec Hardy, was what made it... but it was also rather "dark", in a way that's not meant by the usual overuse of that word.
