Thunderbolts
Took the 12 year old to see this, and it was excellent, a lot better than some of the more recent Marvel stuff. I mean it's Marvel, so don't go in there expecting a work of art like Schindler's List, but this was much closer to some of the earlier stuff and was fun from start to finish. Loved Red Guardian, he was great value.
I saw this and liked it, but I don't think it was really any better or worse than recent offerings despite the good press it's getting.
What I think it did have which does elevate it is that it clearly has a purpose in setting up the deck for Secret Wars, which (just in my opinion) made it seem more purposeful than other films.
There's also the fact that it made two forgettable characters JD squad Captain America and Ghost seem less forgettable so that's a positive. I spent hald the movie trying to figure out what movie Bob was originally from before realising he's a newly introduced character.

Seen the lead Sophie Thatcher in two things recently, this and Heretic. She's the best in both.
Good story, well executed - pun intended.

Watched All Quiet on the Western Front last night.
The Netflix version? If so, that was very good and better than the John-Boy version. The original (1930) is still the best.

I think visually it's better, but I think the 1930s and John Boy versions captured the themes of the book a lot better. The Netflix one wasn't devoid of substance, but it felt style over substance when watching it.

The Accountant is excellent. Be interesting how they go about bottling that lightning twice.

@Tim That the one written by a Navy Seal or similar - and based on an actual real-life mission/people? Or something like that?
Edit: ah yes - "told in real time and based on the memory of the people who lived it."
I haven't seen it - but guessed at what it would be like based on the premise - your review confirms my guess. -
Way of the Dragon
Absolute paper thin plot, bad dubbing and terrible acting but great fun.
Some businessman in Rome is trying to take over a restaurant for no apparent reason. His thugs come in for routine beat downs of the staff only for a stranger from out of town to come and protect them and teach them to fight.
Bruce Lee is the absolute man, there's various contradictory stories about how tough he actually was in real life ( unlike his two main adversaries in the film he never actually competed ) but there is no denying he had presence and looked absolutely beautiful doing what he did. Some amazing athleticism on display.
The Iconic fight scene with Chuck Norris at the end is absolutely awesome, my rating would be considerably less if not for these two.

Well, you know what you're getting when youre watching a Statham movie, even the titles of his movies are getting similar

@bayimports with small font and no glasses on, it looked like quite a different movie title.
