we watched it on the weekend too, enjoyed it, had "chef" vibes i thought, cooking brings people together

Just did the same.
Funny how dated the first one looks. Cutting edge digital recording at the time but 20 odd years later its very limited and maxes out at just HD quality. You soon forget it though, still a terrific movie. Felt real.
28 Weeks later not as bad as I remembered, still finished it annoyed. Lots of amazing scenes but just some idiocy thrown in. For a start just put in other zombies rather than keep bringing out the dad zombie as though he's got some sort of advanced tracking system to find his kids..just dumb and contrived.
Didn't realise it at the time but Danny Boyle didn't actually direct 28 weeks later but he is back for 28 years later. That bodes well. Anyway fingers crossed that I'm not walking into another cinema disappointment next week.
Tangently related i see that Aussie/Kiwi Zombie movie 'Forgive us all' is available on streaming platforms now, never made it to the movies in Oz that I could find

Extremely.
Also when the Jeremy Renner character gets out to push start the car why didn’t he just shoot the guys with the flamethrowers ?
The whole genre has become a parody of itself but these two movies are still flawed classics.
I love this scene too…..
I think what pisses me off about that one is they left it so ready for a sequel and we’ve had to wait nearly 20 years

Probably already been reviewed on here but what the heck.
The Accountant 2.
I really liked the original with Baffleck giving one of his better - ie less look at me - performances. Jon Bernthal is usually worth watching too. However, you do need a credible plot and some good writing. What we have here is a fairly non-sensical plot with a shed load of lazy, disjointed writing. Add in a really not funny "comedy" element and it was barely worthwhile keeping my eyes open.
2 OTT action scenes out of 5 formulaic sequel disappointments.

Got me thinking about other awesome intros. I think Dawn of the dead 2004 remake is one of the best. Incredible 8 or so minutes to build the world. Absolutely terrifying at the cinema
then leading into Cash's "The man comes around"
Yeah I remember that one, they all end up in the mall and chaos eventually ensues. Awesome flick

Watched Forgive Us All over the weekend. Aussie/Kiwi zombie/western flick, filmed in Queenstown. Pretty good, maybe it leant a little too much into Western cliches at parts but overall a really solid flick. Mrs enjoyed it too. Prime video had it at 50% off to rent.

Shorts on that look decent. With this and 28 years later I should be sorted for my Zombie fix over the winter

Same. This may be heresy but I prefer 28 Weeks Later, primarily because of
the better cinematography, higher budget etc.Rose Byrne and Catherine McCormack. -
Possession 1981 film with Sam Neil. Supernatural psychological "thriller" set in eastern Europe I caught on an obscure channel.
Easily one of the weirdest films I've seen for a while. Very David Lynch and recommended if you're into that genre. Found it a bit forgettable though
