Probably already been reviewed on here but what the heck.

    The Accountant 2.

I really liked the original with Baffleck giving one of his better - ie less look at me - performances. Jon Bernthal is usually worth watching too. However, you do need a credible plot and some good writing. What we have here is a fairly non-sensical plot with a shed load of lazy, disjointed writing. Add in a really not funny "comedy" element and it was barely worthwhile keeping my eyes open.

2 OTT action scenes out of 5 formulaic sequel disappointments.

Got me thinking about other awesome intros. I think Dawn of the dead 2004 remake is one of the best. Incredible 8 or so minutes to build the world. Absolutely terrifying at the cinema

then leading into Cash's "The man comes around"

Yeah I remember that one, they all end up in the mall and chaos eventually ensues. Awesome flick

Watched Forgive Us All over the weekend. Aussie/Kiwi zombie/western flick, filmed in Queenstown. Pretty good, maybe it leant a little too much into Western cliches at parts but overall a really solid flick. Mrs enjoyed it too. Prime video had it at 50% off to rent.

Shorts on that look decent. With this and 28 years later I should be sorted for my Zombie fix over the winter

but almost generous, I'd sway between 1.5 and 2.
The most interesting thing to me was trying to work out if Affleck has been knee deep in Ozempic. Wobbly gizzard neck and chicken legs and no corset.

    1h 48m | TV-MA

Some amusing scenes but far too clever for its own good

    Re-watched 28 Days and 28 Weeks later.

Both quality, but that opening scene as he wanders the deserted streets of London is awesome, sets the scene perfectly

Same. This may be heresy but I prefer 28 Weeks Later, primarily because of the better cinematography, higher budget etc. Rose Byrne and Catherine McCormack.

Possession 1981 film with Sam Neil. Supernatural psychological "thriller" set in eastern Europe I caught on an obscure channel.

Easily one of the weirdest films I've seen for a while. Very David Lynch and recommended if you're into that genre. Found it a bit forgettable though

Villeneuve is a genius filmmaker, Arrival, Blade Runner 2049, Sicario, Dune Pt 1 and 2

Bond films are like Pizza. Even the not so good ones are actually pretty good.

I thought they might go to Martin Campbell again as he has history making the first good film with a new Bond actor before the quality decreases ....

She looked rough as guts here compared to Braveheart.

Poor woman, has died a pretty horrible death in both films I've seen her in.

Need to add that its very different to what I was expecting and can understand why some won't like it. Apparently there is a sequal or 2 in the works though not danny boyle directed so i dont have high hopes.

Some movies what I watched recently on last-minute long-haul flights, so tired and drunk and annoyed at life:

    • Captain America: Brave New World ? Or some such.
      • Forgettable
-- Literally. I watched this on flight back to NZ, and when browsing movies to watch on return flight - had to click into it before deciding I had already seen it
        -- Titwatch, I assume: zero
    • Something else Marvel
      • Can't remember. I'm going to assume forgettable and tit-watch zero
    • Wolfs
      • attempting to be stylish 2 major lead men bouncing off each other
      • had its moments
      • overall... meh
      • at this point, I've been cut off from being served booze, but the scene of them threatening the kid not to tell his dad anything, and then going in and introducing themselves to same dad... did that make any sense? Did I miss a subtlety?
      • it feels like there might have been tits in this? Or rather - should have been? But wasn't? I'm pretty sure it "should have been", and was a tit-watch of zero.
    • Novocaine
      • reasonable, if it didn't always add up
      • tit-watch of nearly, I think?
      • I'll still be re-watching Kick-Ass instead
    • At least one other movie
      • Obviously forgettable
      • and presumably a tit-watch of zero, considering I've forgotten it

Fuck airlines. Their low tolerance for tit-watch, and their low tolerance for how many wines a man might need before even considering an attempt at sleeping in a flying noise machine filled with other fluffybunnies. Fuck'em.
