@Rancid-Schnitzel can and will. aside from half the people in a democracy of necessity being below average intelligence, the amount of media attention he has got has been huge. maybe they weren't trying to support him, but they sure as shit have.
i don't think he has sat down and planned this out and it has been tactical, i think he's just an arrogant idiot who assumes that everyone is going to pay attention to him because of how important he thinks he is.
he is an idiot, he is a genuinely stupid man who says stupid things. yes, the way things have panned out, public distrust of politicians and an awful opposition led by the least trusted of them all, have played right into his hands - but that doesn't make him smart - it makes some other people pretty bloody dumb too, but it doesn't make him smart.Right, it's because everyone is stupid and he's stupid and they're all having a great big stupid people party all the way to the White House. I think that's a wee bit simplistic.
Obviously you're very passionate about this and you hate they guy but that doesn't mean he's stupid. You cannot just fluke getting to where he is. You need some smarts, some cunning, some skills to get anywhere near it. He's read the electorate like a book. Played them and the press like a farking violin. You reckon any idiot could do that?
There are plenty of negative things you can say about Trump, plenty, but stupid, no way.

I am not really interested in proving it to you, I have seen and read plenty from them that shows they support Clinton, if you choose not believe that, no problem.
btw The guy from Rubin report used to be tight with those guys, but now they really don't get along... but I am not going to prove that either.
OK so your not going to answer a question I did ask but to counter that you're also not going to answer a question I didn't ask.
You can read it that way, I read it as I made a statement you asked me to prove it, I could not be bothered. I therefore made the assumption that you expected me to research things to prove to you, I don't care enough about you believing me on this topic to be bothered. You chose not to believe me.. fine. Not sure why you would expect me to try and prove it to you.
If you want to believe they are not pro Clinton.. knock your socks off. -

I don't buy the idea Trump is stupid. He has zero core ideas or morals, but that just makes him ideal. He's changed his mind on a stack of things depending on polls. On Anti-Vax, I don't think he honestly belives it causes Autism (which would make him stupid), but he will say that to hit his audience. Same with abortion, guns, trade etc.
His true genius is to twig the easiest groups to actual pander to are the stupid, bigots, and the paranoid. That was what the Birther thing taught him, take a stageringly stupid thing, say it, and a MASSIVE chunk of the US are on board.
And combined they make up 25% of the US vote... get another ~ 20% from somewhere & you win. So he decided he's a Republican, ran on the 2nd amendment & repealling Roe v Wade & boom, there's 20% of the US who are hard right Christian conservatives who will vote for anyone stopping the US becoming a soddam & gomorah where the gays marry each other & abort 8 month old babies while high.
Re Hydro v BSG, I think you are debating cross points. The clip is saying "Trump targets the idiot manipulatable side" - which Hydro thinks is a terrible concept if true, BSG is saying he's good good points.
Both are 100% right, he has good points because Trump is targeting the stupid & it is an awesome policy. And that it works is scary as all feck for democracy.

hold up i don't hate him at all, i just think he's stupid. and i very much think he has fluked it. well not so much fluked it as charged through on the bravado and bullshit that is his standard modus operandi - i don't believe it has been some cunning plan to play the electorate and the media that shows how smart he really is. he's just doing what he does, and the times fit the man.

Again, I don't see how an idiot or genuinely stupid person could pull that off. It just isn't possible. The guys wearing those red hats and carrying around signs might be idiots, but the guy whose picture is on literally millions of those signs? I don't think so.
One of the reasons people like Trump and other populists like him do so well is that the self-proclaimed smart people hugely underestimate them and their schtick and end up getting done like a dinner. That clip above shows just how he manipulates the so-called brilliant minds in the media. And he's supposed to be the stupid one?

If you want to believe they are not pro Clinton.. knock your socks off.Actually my initial point made to Frank was:-
"A Hillary supporter? The same Hillary that you have pilloried as the establishment? This is the man that wishes to reach out to he 98% of people NOT in power - I'd not call that an establishment supporter. What is your rationale for suggesting he is a Hillary supporter?"
You then said :- "Yes he is a Hilary supporter, the Young Turks are incredibly pro democrat and anit Trump."
So you jumped in with a statement, I then said I hadn't seen any evidence of the support for Clinton and you then do not back this up because you now can not be bothered?
Why get involved in the first place?

Yeah it was more about the Trump being two faced thing to display the cunning - saying one thing on camera to his crowd, and another behind closed doors
Kind of like Hillary's public and private positions.

you think he's smart but saying stupid things to get the stupid vote. i think he's saying stupid things because he is stupid, and that's given him the stupid vote.
he's been linking vaccines and autism since 2007.
if you take an issue that people feel super-strongly about (guns, abortion), many will be mobilised to vote on that one thing, and it is possible that you gain more than you lose despite it not being the majority opinion. i don't see vaccines as being like that - i think you're always going to lose more than you gain - so i don't think you can see it as a smart manipulative move. -

My contention with Scott Adams is that he thinks everyone votes on irrationality and everyone is just as irrational. He seems to be arguing that it is just as irrational to vote for Clinton out of fear of Trump as it is to vote for Trump out of fear of vaccines. I think that is nonsense. Everyone may be somewhat irrational but not everyone is irrational to the same extent. He seems to think irrationality is binary when it operates on a continuum. I highly doubt BSG agrees with me were I to say that Clinton supporters were less irrational than Trump supporters.
Also someone like Frank is posting his articles because he thinks Adams is pro trump. If you really take what Adams is saying, it is an incredibly negative take on both Trump and Clinton supporters.

That math might not work - I reckon a significant part of the 20% might also be in the 25%.
