Because if this trend continues, elite women's sport will be dominated by contestants who have had the benefit of a couple of decades of testosterone.

It's fundamentally fubar because in virtually every sport on earth a strong, fit, skilled bloke will be better than a strong, fit, skilled chick. Look what happened when the Williams sisters took on some dude ranked really low in world tennis?

@jegga yeah I saw the one about the Grandmother this morning then this...reading the other story its linked to, it is surely gang related and they are using the kids and then prtecting them.
Shows they dont give a shit when they are robbing Iwi-owned petrol stations.
That said, when thier whanau's and community takes a stand like this, hopefully it points to a change.

I agree it's completely fucking absurd. They interviewed the woman that came third who was very diplomatic with her "that's just the way it is, they've decided she (he) is a female, nothing I can do so no comment to make". I would be fucking furious if I was her.

That Williams sisters one was devastating. Karsten Braasch smoked a pack a day and had just played a round of golf and drunk a couple of shandies before he destroyed them on the court. I don't even want to know what Sampras or Agassi would have done to them.
I recall in high school biology learning about the XY sex determination system and how some females were XY which meant they weren't allowed to compete against other females in sport. We watched a doco about a female swimmer who was banned from competing even though she was actually a woman.
Now it seems this very strict (almost too strict) straight scientific approach is being replaced by the gender-fluid bullshit we're seeing today.
All I can say is that it's good that this shit wasn't happening during the cold war. The Soviets and East Germans would hardly have had an original female on their teams.

That's the key point, really. A bit of self-awareness to recognize that society is a give and take deal. If society will accept your gender-reassignment that's all good. But, then surely you recognize that the process has given you significant advantages that shouldn't be exploited.
If you want an Olympic gold medal then get it before you start your treatments - like Bruce Jenner!
