@donsteppa yeah - getting that fluffybunny's teeth out of his fist will be priority #1. Is it covered under NHS? 😉

Surely that's the uncontrolled behaviour of grevious bodily harm. Fights over and buddies telling him to stop, yet still he carries on. Surely that's how one gets a conviction?

White sportsman privilege here we go!

Yep, if he were shit he'd get slapped by the judge. If you could win them the ashes, then ... who knows.

Another good life lesson for people - just be really good at something, rich, white or some good combination and you're sweet as.

I'm no Laurie Lawyer but surely that's jail time right? Might have gotten away with it had it not been for the final knockdown when the other guy was backing away.

@rembrandt if it was Qld he would probably just get a fine. Not sure how things go in the UK but I would be surprised if things were too different. If they routinely put people in jail for that the jails would be full before we knew it. That sory if thing happens nearly every night unfortunately.

Davey Dumb Dumb has been annoyingly subdued since settling down and having a kid. It's getting to the point that I'm starting not to hate him as much anymore. Tell that w*nker to up his game this summer please. As you say, hopefully a fiery ginga getting up in his face may awaken the grub inside him.

That is how the system works though. If you can prove that you can be a contributing member of society, and convince the judge you are unlikely to re-offend, then the judge will generally give you a chance. It's either that or convicting you, likely meaning you will become a drain on the countries economy for the rest of your life.

There's always a balance to be struck between justice and rehabilitation, but sportsmen are nowhere near the only group of people that get given second chances - it's just their cases are highly publicised.

Well if Davey is allowed his bat I'd say they'd start on a fairly even footing

Strange that he needs to defend them from a guy he's already knocked to the ground

@sammyc yeah. Video is pretty damning, but I'd imagine he'll be hanging on to anything right now and self defence might ease things a little bit. If they let him leave for Oz he might have to stay there and camp out at Keith Murdoch's place
