Ross Taylor, take a fucking bow. One of the all time great ODI innings - 181* in a chase is absolutely insane. With an injury and no runner to boot.

We are all blessed to watch this guy play in his prime.

Isn’t it good to see a series played between teams who respect each other and don’t have to resort to bully tactics and acting like classless bogans.

Why would it be any other way?

Because across the world Davey dumb dumb and the boorish Aussie team feel it's not enough to play the game well, they have to sound off and act like a bunch of assholes too

2/1. Sigh. Munro continues his rich vein of form. No pressure Guptill and Kane, but we are going to need hundreds from you both.

The way our middle order is going I doubt that will be enough

Only roscoe is trustworthy. One of these 3 will need to carry their bat. Maybe even two of them

    Nostrildamus

You spout enough shit mate eventually you get something right 😁

I love reading a thread after the fact πŸ™‚

Mrs boo said some fairly unsavory things about young Henry. ... well at least she suggested he may not be good enough to win it ...

Because TSF is all about me me me Henry reminds me of a game I played for Purltaruru in Matamata...

We needed 3 to win off two overs. I was not the most renowned striker of the ball. But we had a few wickets up our sleeves (4 ish ?).

Me on strike ... our best bat at the other end ... first five balls of 2nd to last over I hit straight to fielders ... I could hear (and I fucking knew) "don't fucking take a single ... leave it to Devinder!!".

So last ball of 49th I thought fuck it. I'll swing and if I hit it we'll get two ... if I get out Devinder is on strike.

I recalled a ODI when Richard Hadlee hit over the infield on the second last ball to win a game in Aus ... I'll have a crack ... ar worst I'll get one and run out on the second ...

    Swung through the line ...

    ... hit it over mid-on ...

    ... run two ... run two ...

It ran away for four (thank fuck !)

    Basically I am Henry Nicholls!

Ian Smith is embarrassing when the BCs start to turn it up. Becomes a total fanboy. Someone should remind him that the coverage goes all around the world.

Nothing beats a game of ODI cricket when it's played like this. Even rugby comes a distant second for me.

Agree. A top game of ODI is the best sport in the world.

If Henry and Fergusson aren't chosen because they can't bowl at the death - WTF is Southee doing in the team?

Heard Simon Hughes podcast last week where he basically went on for 30 minutes about how NZ are never beaten and consistently play above themselves. He ruined his argument by saying Roscoe typified this and effectively described him as an ugly cricketer who did well despite not being much more than a battler.

Well he's certainly shown he's a battler but seriously... I only wish Taylor had got his eye fixed three or four years ago.

Second wish - he plays until he's 40

    Fuck it cdg gone
    Back in England’s favour now

Funny reading these comments now. When CDG was swinging for the fences, the odds were $1.01 to NZ and $26 England. Post wicket it was $1.03 (and $21) and the highest it ever got for rest of the game was only $1.15!

    Great game!

That was just a mightily awesome innings from Rossco - potentially career defining.

Pretty much won that game on his own, with a bit of support from Ish Sodhi - and a few other guys who didn't disgrace themselves, but whose names don't warrant mentioning in the same sentence in regard to this match. πŸ™‚ Tom Latham - good work.

Tom Latham deserves a tonne of credit for staying with Taylor for so long, That was a heck of a partnership.

It's hilarious. "o ye of little faith" always comes to mind, but years of supporting the "Craps" does that to you. They manage to lose from anywhere and then they do something like that - thank you Ross. Owesome.

@snowy I think a lot of fans would be pretty tense when 2/2 chasing 330+

Maybe we just like to get on the front foot with our angst πŸ™‚ does make eating the winning pie so much more nom nom nom!!

"The leaves used by Naholo's uncle, the village doctor, to mend the star rugby winger's fractured fibula are from a plant called kawakawarau, a version of which – kawakawa - grows abundantly in the New Zealand bush and is still used by Maori healers to treat ailments ranging from rheumatism to gonorrhoea."

Anyone got Rossco's number? I have no comment about the other things Kawakawa may remedy but we need him fit to play.

Or Candice Warner according to some.

Actually have to tell myself off for that one, she's probably really nice - just has poor taste in men.
