I think today is the last question session in parliament, Ardern has been stalling around questions surrounding her relationship with our resident Czech career criminal. Hopefully Bridges and co have some more fun with her.
Still two Question Times to go - Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Parliament only sits on a Friday under urgency anyway (which wouldn't involve Question Time).
I cannot believe how the media is just not attacking over this.

It's certainly baffling. It was telling that her chief press sec went down to the gallery on Wednesday AFTER the 6pm news had started to let them know that she had received a text from ol' mate Hardcore.

All her photo ops djing at dance parties while being linked to someone who imported and sold party drugs would be biting her hard in the arse with a functioning media .

Maybe because they all voted for her?

But it's all fine because apparently she's changing her cellphone number. Problem solved, nothing to see here.

They are too busy navel gazing about the Grace murder

I think it's time to seize the Pee Em's mobile phone to check if she has engaged with Hardcore before she loses it

Assuming it is a work phone, surely then the information should be available if required, if not a work phone, isnt this the same as the non-work email saga from last month, or was it October? So many things you forget.
Vodafone/Spark woudl be able to provide texts too if required to by police, and GSCB could just give them out anyway, they are spying on everyone!

@jegga I'm so glad we finally have a transparent government we can trust.

Referendum on recreational cannabis use: Y/N?

Any idea what labour are going to go public with on Friday before the break so the public will have got over it by the time they go back to work next year?
One time I'll fully buy into @Baron-Silas-Greenback's general cynicism about politicians - parties of all colours everywhere do that
Interestingly, quite a few bits of big news appeared yesterday amid the build up to Christmas...
- 'Spying'
- Cannabis referendum
- Proposed immigration changes
... possibly other stuff that I've missed too

They all do it I agree , they don’t all let drug dealers the pm is linked to stay in the country though . I’m thinking maybe they’ll release the texts to give their shills in the media a few weeks to minimise them

Good valedictory speech from Chris Finlayson. He used to say if he ever actually won his seat he would ask for a recount
Thanks for posting it - I enjoyed the read!
I especially acknowledge Annette's husband Ray, who would sit through campaign meetings in Island Bay with a beatific smile on his face as Paul Tolich, Ken Findlay, and the rest of the Island Bay Labour gang yelled at me. I once told Ken Findlay in 2014 to sit down and shut up—I always had a special rapport with constituents. After that meeting, he accused me of being a CIA agent. A few days later, I was appointed Minister in charge of the GCSB and the SIS, so perhaps dear old Ken wasn't totally deluded.

@jegga great share. That was a cracking speech from Findlayson - a guy that definitely gets the nuance and relationship side of politics and governance. Really sad to see a guy of that quality leaving.
He did good while he was there, settling with Tuhoe was his Everest imho
