@Tim caarnts! They deserve to be shot themselves, but then that sits on the shoulders of some cop for the rest of his life he killed someone.
I dunno, might feel pretty good to kill this sort of scumbag.

Let the dogs have a wee nibble first.

@Kirwan I'm sure there would be the initial buzz of saving lives, but taking a life would be tough for some to deal with.
I guess if it's a choice to take one of these scumbags out to save lives it might make dealing with it easier. But for a normal person it must be a burden to carry

They're saying dozens of people have been shot.

The implications for civil liberty in NZ are likely to change us markedly. It's a sign of the times anger and rhetoric are channelled by all sorts - media, politicians etc and are picked up by these sorts of scum who exist in an echo chamber remote from reality and work themselves up into a frothing rage.
How anyone could do this to any one individual let alone target a group like this. I feel sick - sick with sympathy for the victims, sick with anger at the perpetrators and sick with fear at the reaction in terms of tightening our freedom of movement.
NZ has been pretty unique in that anyone could walk up to a politician and fracture their eye socket. I think all that is going to change.

I don't know. According to the Norwegian police who captured Anders Bering Breivik, they were seriously pissed off he didn't give them an excuse to blow his head off.
Regardless, this is horrendous. Who would have thought this could happen in NZ?

it has though, Aramoana.
-
@Rancid-Schnitzel guess you could say it was inevitable that it was going to happen sooner or later?
Although the signs dont look like the source of the attack is as most would have expected it to be?

Sure, I just meant in terms of what appears to be some kind of racially or politically motivated act of terrorism.

Aramoana was a lone nutjob going off his rocker because of his neighbours dog initially.
This sounds like a premeditated attack by a group targeting another group
Both are awful but today's is particularly heinous
I don't see how you can possibly label one any worse than the other but ok.
-
seeing comments on social media of upto 6 people being killed, numerous seriously injured...now a bomb supposedly found in a car
-
@dogmeat I hope we proceed with a surgically sharp investigation and findings rather than throwing a protection ( freedom limiting) blanket over the whole population.
Aside from the sickness of this violation, an other pertinent feature is the rarity of such an act.
-
Media are reporting one of the nutters is an Aussie.
-
@taniwharugby I'm hopeful all this is a duplication of 9/11 where there were all sorts of stories being reported on the day that turned out to be wrong. What little is already acknowledged as fact is terrible enough
