Also, a million people live in Kings Landing.
...and you'll be safe in the crypts....
This series is looking like having very little in the way of interesting plot. The positioning of the chess pieces looks to have finished and it is now all about set pieces. I hope I'm proved wrong.
Yeah the crypts are very interesting as there has been so much foreshadowing including pretty much every trailer released for season 8.
One thing to keep in mind is that Winterfell, including the crypts, were built by Bran the Builder, the same who built, with the aide of the Children of the Forrest, the Wall and when building the Wall, spells were weaved into it to keep the White Walkers and wights out.
So it makes sense that Winterfell and most likely the crypts have been built using similar magic and this has been alluded to in the books in particular but it's pretty safe to say that the crypts have huge significance in both the books and TV series.
So I think there will be more to it that just more dead for the Night King to rise.
It's important to note that Bran hasn't entered the crypts since being marked by the Night King and therefore any magic to keep out White Walkers and wights should be intact. Also would explain why Bran told Samwell to tell Jon of his parentage as Jon was in the crypts at the time and that during the War for Winterfeel, he will wait in the Godswood.
Whilst I do think that there is definitely a possibility the Stark ancestors will rise, I'd say it's at least 50/50 that they will fight beside the living Stark's and on the side of the living rather than the White Walkers and the dead.

@RoninWC you clearly put plenty of thought into this show. What’s your take on the other signposting that hasn’t played out yet? In particular the clumsy lines from Gilly about words that sound the same but mean different things? Sea/see.
She read something in the books Sam stole which Sam hasn’t clicked to yet.
Theory I read was that it was to do with the Night Kings identity and the prophecy (sun/son) -
where is Mellisandre?

... oh was that a request? Here you go:
-
@taniwharugby thought it was a bit odd, but I’m not one to judge 😉
-
@taniwharugby saw someone guessing she was the girl with the burned face.
-
So who's everyone got dying in the Battle of Winterfell? I'm picking:
- Brienne of Tarth (defending the Kingslayer in the battle)
- Theon Greyjoy (defending Bran in the garden)
- Greyworm
- and my roughie is Daenerys Targaryen (frees up the storyline for Jon Snow)
-
@Kirwan she can bring people back to life, but cant heal burns
@Sneakdefreak yeah been thinking on that...plenty of major players that can be killed off, possibly more than 1 will bite it tomorrow...?
Davos, Varys, Misande to name a few.

Add Jorah Friendzone to that list as well

I figured she was trying to look like the girl that got burned alive to mess with him. Assuming that's who she was.

As you have suggested, it could be related to the Night Kings identity or the prophecy of the Prince who was Promised.
Some of the theories out there is that the Prince who was Promised is what the Night King is seeking as his right. A child that was promised the last time but not delivered which lead to the Long Night.
And that this time, the child could possibly be the child of Dany and Jon (Aegon).
It's funny though in that most of the interweb chat about that conversation between Gilly and Sam focus on the wedding and not the other things Gilly found.

Fucking amped for tonight's episode. Honestly have no idea who will die. Brienne seems an obvious one, as well as some of the other not-so-central characters like Theon, Friendzone and Greyworm (I'm surprised Greyworm has lasted so long given he's always on the front line).
I like the idea of Stark ancestors rising in the crypts and fighting on the side of the living. Headless Ned has a nice ring to it.
Another thing I want to see is Ghost tearing whitewalkers apart with aplomb. They really need to give the dire wolves their due respect in the series, I don't know why they haven't so far, would add a lot to the show.
Social media will be fucking flooded with spoilers after 1PM.
