Boult gets another in his second over. Pitch swinging - surely pitches won't be like this all World Cup?
    India 8-2, Kohli 5*

Can we just fuck Tim Southee off now please. Reviews a ball clearly going down leg - what a waste. He will get tonked this WC and cost us.

He’s turning Trent Boult into the old quote about Hadlee; like facing the World XI at one end, but the Ilford 2nd’s...

Would love a retro performance like the 2015 7-for v England tho....

I'd rather we just drop him.

Neesh gets 2 wickets in 4 balls, hardly genuine wicket taking balls & literally still warming up. India 81-6, Karthik the man gone

We're not going to get much practice at smashing the ball out of the park in this game!

I'm watching the NZ v India warmup game and NZ had India reeling at around 80 for 6, then, as usual, let their foot off the pedal and India were 175 for 8. If this is how the Black Caps continue, without being able to complete the job by keeping the pressure on, then that lapse in their focus will be to their detriment in the cup games when it really counts. India then finished on 179 all out and at least it will give NZ some much needed batting practice.

So we dismissed India for 179

Meanwhile in the other warmup game Steve Smith has scored a century vs England

Crushed them. Good confidence booster. Our three world class players all put in strong performances to boot.

Boult is going to trouble a lot of people on English conditions with the new ball.

Our bowlers were impressive, considering no Starc, Hazelwood, or Cummins. Behrendorff had it on a string.

@Chris-B Munro is rubbish. Kane and Ross looked good with the bat. If we get swinging conditions like that again in the tournament proper, Boult is going to terrorize batsmen. Neesham also went well. Less said about Southee and Santner the better. To be fair though, India looked really flat in the field.

@Mokey I was flicking between channels - missed Santner's first couple of overs - so only saw Jadeja smacking him. CdG was also a handful in those conditions.

I reckon Neesham is going to be a key player - if he goes well, I think we'll go well. If he's a bust, we probably don't make the play-offs. He's really the man we need to ice the batting cake and take some wickets through the middle overs.

I thought it had been decided that Nicholls opening was the way forward. To be really harsh on Munro - you can go away and find some form, but you can't go away and find talent - and he's just not quite good enough.

I think the Neesh can be justifiably fucked off he didn’t make the last World Cup too. Obviously Elliot performed heroics in his place but Neesham is a potential star in both disciplines if he is in form.
