I thought it was much better than Her - which drawing a longish bow it's kind of similar to. I think it helped that I really had no idea what it was about going in aside from a pic of Ava.

And boys yes there was nudity (from two pretty attractive chicks too).

Also, the three stars of that movie are in everything these days. Domnhall Gleason, Oscar Issac and Alicia Vikander (less so, but I didn't know she existed 2 weeks ago and now I've seen 2 movies with her in them).

I just watched this too and thought it wasn't bad.

I couldn't work out who Nathan was so had to google him to find out I had just watched him in A most violent year, which was a bit average, long and slow. -

I watched last year's Godzilla. Fuck you movie, i wasted my time!! If i watch a monster movie, i want to see the fucking monsters wreck shit right the fuck up. I don't want to see some piston wristed gibbon getting ferried around to conveniently be in the right place at the right/wrong time.

Why the fuck did everyone cheer when Godzilla was leaving? How the fuck did they know he was the "good guy"? Why did they not assume (naturally) that he was just the toughest monster that wrecked the fuck out of their city and killed thousands of people? For that matter, how were they still alive after the giant fucking nuclear explosion just off the coast?

Also, can someone explain to me why a tsunami caused by a big fucking lizards bow wave still cause that tsunami suck back thing? That doesn't make any sense to me at all.

Fuck you movie, you better not be a franchise. Even if you are

Really? First 90 minutes, I thought it was great. But the last 30 minutes I thought it completely went to shit. I'd give the first 90 minutes a solid 8/10, and the last 30 minutes a 4/10, for an overall 6.10 score.

San Andreas - good special effects, typical US sort of storyline to a disaster movie (complete with symbolic American flag unfurling at the end once the disaster is completed). But still worth a look.

The female lead should win an award for emerging cleavage of the year. Quite outstanding.

I want to see this. The Rock is the fucking man. I think i love Carla Gugino. I know i love watching shit get wrecked the fuck up. Boxes ticked!
-

The Gunman - Sean Penn, Jarvier Bardem, Ray Winstone

Pretty decent film with Penn as an assassin working in Congo and then must go into hiding after a high-profile hit.

Penn looking old, but is pretty ripped in it too, but I guess if you have Charlize Theron hanging off your arm...
-

Poltergeist has not aged well.

The original? Havent seen it for a while but always thought of it as a classic.
-

Watched the original Terminator and Terminator 2 recently. First time in a good 15 years or so. Terminator has aged very poorly with the special effects and some of the acting but still a reasonable watch. T2 still holds up really well, the t1000 special effects are looking a little dated but not too bad. Makes me wonder if they might re-release down the line redoing some of the effects, surely couldnt be that hard in this digital age.

Saw Get Hard on the plane, and yes they go there with gusto. Basically an entitled Wall Street Banker (Will Ferrell) is sentenced to 10 years prison and enlists the help of an honest hard working car wash owner (Kevin Hart) to help him prepare for prison.

No laugh out loud moments, but I chuckled along with the movie and enjoyed it. Ferrell practicing his cursing is pretty funny
-

Beautiful and Twisted (aka The Novack murders) - Rob Lowe. Paz Vega. Candice Bergen

Based on a true story of Lowe, the son of a hotel billionaire, who falls for the hot stripper Vega. Short (about 80mins excluding credits) sharp story, unsure how close to actual facts, but I liked it.

I also see Paz Vega is in a good few movies being made, that is good.
-

I'm working my way through tehm at the moment in anticpation of seeing the new one. I still think T1 was a good movie, especially considering its age and budget, but T2 was still bloody awesome. Holds up really well. I watched the orginal Jurassic park recently and that was still great too.

T3 wasn't as bad as I remembered, but still a pretty poor addition.
-

Just googled Paz Vega. Now d'ling her catalogue to, err, help practise my Spanish...
-
Went to see Jurrasic Park yesterday, good fun movie, TR Jnr enjoyed it.

Jessica Chastain looked hot in it...

My only issue is after the first 3 movies, when will they realise you can't keep these dinosaurs contained, something is bound to go wrong! -

Due to a combination of bad weather and the inability in my old age to drink two nights in a row and being on a plane 4 different times I watched a few older (but still recent) movies while up in Raro.

Pride: The movie about the gay and lesbian group who supported the striking Welsh miners. This was a pretty funny movie with the culture clash stuff with the Welsh women and the gay guys often being laugh out loud funny.

The Theory of Everything: An ok movie that actually could have been good. After watching Redmayne in Jupiter Ascending I was pleasantly surprised to see that he can actually act. My issue with this movie is that they seemed to skip over parts and the narrative point of view kept changing and not for the better. I know it was based on the wife's story, but at times it was his story and at times it was hers and it didn't mesh well. Also, the children went from being prominent parts of the story and then were non existent until the final scene.

While We're Young: Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts are a middle aged couple who hang out with a younger couple. Was pretty good, but then again I've always had a thing for Naomi Watts and Amanda Seyfried was the younger girl in it.

Enough Said: One of James Gandolfini's final roles alongside Julia Louis-Dreyfus. They play an elder couple who get together and Louis-Dreyfus' character is the masseuse for Gandolfini's former wife. It's kind of half a drama and half a farce. Was ok.
-

Saw Jurassic World in 3D IMAX recently. The only way to see many (new release) movies I think.

Still, makes you thinkm this must be based on something, and with all the advances made in the noughties regarding DNA, forensic studies I can easily see something like this happening, Loved the bikes/pods and monorail.

Really, I would be the first one there, if there was a Dinosaur Park like that in existence!
-

Yeah those gyro-pods were awesome!!

-

Godzilla (2014): shit.

300: Rise of an Empire: shit with tits.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes: shit with apes (yet none flung).
-

Straight from the San Diego Comic-Con, just released...
