It's just such a shit flag, it's been railroaded into the referendum because of a handful of key haters. At the start when 40 design were produced it barely registered as a popular option. A couple of polls had it near the bottom of preferred choices.<br>
It looks like a logo because it actually is a logo, it has s very flimsy reference to NZ<br>
And it's just shit, though to be fair all 5 pretty much are and most I feel will keep the status quo. ( due to 5 uninspiring choices and in one case a rip off from an engineering firm in the states) -

<p>I strongly connect the current flag as a symbol of my country. The only other symbol i would take over it would be a silver fern. I IN NO WAY associate that red peak bullshit with NZ, there is nothing uniquely NZ about it, it looks shit, it fails on a number of levels. If it came to a straight vote between that and the current flag, i would take the current one every day of the week. </p>

<p>A couple of those asked didn't even know we were looking at changing the flag. Of the rest prob 60% thought the whole process was a waste of money and we should keep the current flag.</p>

<p>Agree. I would have voted to change to either Red Peak or a good black and white fern if one or the other had won the first vote.</p>

<p>Key has come out of this looking good (from the UK from what I have seen) and Little very poorly. In some ways Red Peak seems to has saved this whole process.</p>
