@No-Quarter while its undoubtedly good PR it does come across as genuine imo. Its just hard to divorce the leadership & empathy side of things from the cynical side of politics.

Given what her press secretary said I think there’s more cynicism than genuine emotion.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they release the report about the guy who was raping young labour volunteers this week, it’s already a month or two overdue.

Saw this morning and almost choked on my cornflakes.

Reading the article you see clearly the headlined “world praise” is a but small handful of tweets by nobodies.
Is the NZH a news gathering organization, or a teenage fanclub?

Newshub has an article with the same amount of cringe, the Australian pm is under the gun for caring about the victims of White Island more than the bush fires .
Of course all the articles are based around twitter and the small country syndrome of being pleased when people overseas notice we exist .

She basically should have had 4 teeth extracted before she had her teeth straightened. That's why they look too big for her face. And as her face naturally fined down it is accentuated
I can't go past this.
The Fern has a dentist commenting on the Prime Ministers teeth and I have no doubt that he is correct.
The wisdom of the Fern.

J-cindy might be good at hugging people after disasters, but she aint very good at the core role of running a country.
Imagine if Ardie was considered brilliant at being waterboy, but shit at the rugby stuff, but still an AB...I know thats a shit analogy, but meh.

GLOBAL PRAISE FOR ARDERN !!
Actually some sanctimonious Aussies on twitter taking cheap shots at their pm
I assume her crew picks out the person for her to hug and makes sure a Camera is positioned perfectly to get the right angle, Cindy then closes her eyes looks sad...
Who was it that posted something from her press sec that basically said she would only do interviews when bad shit happens?
A Christchurch journo said that
Chris Lynch isn't exactly a journo.

seems a pretty common theme in most of our media outlets these days

About time. Credit at all time low it would be criminal not to spend some of the forecast surpluses on infrastructure.
Feb is the important date when they announce what it's going on.
Bridges will do his now oh too familiar whingefest about it though. He's obviously decided that the key to being taken seriously is to be strident about everything. He just reminds me of an annoyingly yappy little dog

That was an impressive contortion to somehow turn a govt announcement onto a whinge about the National party leader
-
I shall wait with interest to see what this Labour govt does with a massive roading project spend. NZTA under National was such a clusterfuck, and Bridges (Mr photo op) was a TERRIBLE transport minister to deal with. If they can sort out the rot at the Transport Agency, they have a chance at getting shit done. But holy shit there are a lot aboard that gravy train.

@Baron-Silas-Greenback @dogmeat
My problem with Bridges is that he seems to be wanting to be in power for being in power's sake, as opposed to wanting to run the country because they have the best ideas, best systems and are best equipped to do so.
I see this in Aus too. It's about winning the election rather than selling why you should win.
Jackie's going to win this coz she hugs people. Bridges gunna lose because he's not giving reasons to vote for him.

Mate labour were so desperate to be in power they let Winston screw them while pretending he actually was prepared to go with national. He knew he could walk all over the Jassiah and he has .
Theres not much talent in labour and they've struggled to actually achieve anything of note in the past two years apart from creating the impression theres a lot of creeps in the party that like to prey on young volunteers and they'll cover it up and ignore the victims.
I don't hold much hope of this money being spent effectively considering they spent $300 million on the regional development fund [aka the NZ first bribe] for 616 jobs .Thats $484000 a job and we are somehow to expect they'll do better with more money? Some economists appear to agree that these cretins will find a way to fuck this up, I'd put money on the party that bought us kiwibuild making a hash of this too.
-
@Tim nope but "shovel ready" means roads rather than PT.
At a guess I would say Northern Tauranga expressway, Penlink, Whangarei - Ruakaka, 3rd main rail Wiri - Papakura, Skypath, something that allows them to say they're getting on with Light Rail in Akl and a whole host of stuff under the safety heading hopefully a lot of 2-1 conversions. Maybe some funding for deviations needed for a proper Akl - Ham rail service. But who knows. How much do they have to buy Winnie?
-
@Baron-Silas-Greenback wasn't wrong though - guys a fucking massive liability for National as @booboo and @mokey point out.
